On How To Have A Good Weekend

It doesn't take much to have a good weekend in our neck of the woods. Just a few parties, delicious cupcake recipes and a new dress.
**********
Saturday Morning

First, an Easter egg hunt at Andrew and Lucy's farm. 30 kids, 200 eggs, plus a special "golden egg" containing $20 for the lucky winner.
Maloy found it up in the tree.

Not even an ancestorial monkey could climb that fast. He told me he spent $5 directly after on a game of bowling with cousin Jay. He bowled a spare--I might add.

Other lucky finders:

Buggy, Muggles, Huey, & Livey

But the Most Eggs Found Award goes to Stella:
(However, the word on the street is that she may have stashed some eggs in her basket at home before the hunt began. Judge's ruling is still pending...)

*********
Saturday Evening
That evening I saw ~J surprised out of her mind at the 30 Birthday Celebration of the Year Party #2.
It was most lovely!

~J's handsome boys enjoyed the evening in style.

***********
Sunday
Just-in-time-Darlybird-Rachel sent me her amazing cupcake recipes for Easter dessert. They were a big hit at the family party.
After it's all over, come home and have a nice Easter Weekend nap, which extends into the evening, (and in fact, all night) until Monday morning comes...

and that is how it's done!

It was truly lovely to meet up with everyone -and to be there to witness ~J's surprise.

How fun! I went to Memphis and had a blast. I didn't have feel-good times with family, but my ovaries expelled a jillion eggs and my uterus contracted (all in vain, of course) when I went into numerous baby clothing stores with one of my friends. One of the stores was called Strasbourg or something similar. CUTEST. CLOTHES. EVER!

How long did it take you to make all of those cupcakes? and do we all get the recipe?

You live a festive life!

Maybe you can tell me because Lucy seemed a bit reluctant. After your egg hunt on Saturday I was driving by her house on the way to softball and I saw her and her Beau ripping out their front hedges.

I thought three things:

1. Oh my gosh! One of the kids fell in there and its the only way to get them out.

2. They sure do seem pretty desperate to make sure no eggs went unfound.

3. (And I think the most obvious answer) They must be doing that to fake out Provo city and say the hedges were torn out by the Super-Cell-Thunderstorm of last year. Then with the aid money from the government they will buy themselves into the presidential race of '08. After winning (of course) they would solve all future world conflicts by employing Batman. (Once again, the most obvious and CORRECT answer)

I have never seen ~j so overcome with emotion. It was awesome.

With weekends like that no wonder you live for Fridays!

It was a pleasure to be part of the par-tay and especially to hang out with you and chat for a bit while we watched Sue take down the tents single-handedly. (Did I talk too much? I think I talked too much. Perhaps it was because I'm trying to cram in at least decades of getting to know you in short bursts of lunches and parties.)

I've been dying to ask, however. Who's bigger-than-life face have you chosen to grace your wall? The world wants to know!

i think it should be her.

I made those tissue paper pom-poms that were hanging at your surprise party for my sister-in-laws backyard wedding! Seeing yours brings back memories...I was making them for a week straight! Looks like a fun Easter weekend!

gc6 -did you know she's coming to speak at Sundance in May? She's coming as part of the writer's lecture series.

You can go have lunch with her, listen to her speak and get a signed copy of her new book (whoever knows what it's called). It's a fab deal, too!

Sorry to use you like this, but I'm just testing to see if I can comment as "other" with a link to my new blogsite. Do come for a visit when you have time?

What fun... and I hope someone captured the emotion that Azucar mentioned...

ps. every time I see anyone use "enjoy it" in any comment I think...someone should get royalties.

I am getting so excited for Saturday! Our Easter has been postponed a week because my grandma said so. So Addie gets to find eggs on Saturday. I can't wait! I hope we have cupcakes too!

My peeps my peeps! If Auntie CW is done testing, I'd like to post some responses.

(Auntie, CW test away!)

Tara- can you marry a nephew? In like 7 years?

Nie- We missed you so much! SO MUCH!

Tharker- thanks for appreciating.

Citymama-Dear Darly did in fact post the recipes to her fab cupcakes and I will present the link here.

Meta- I wish we could've talked more. Darn it. Next time?

Kiki- I know what you are talking about with the eggs and ovaries, perahps a little too well.

Peef-Good to see your gorgeous house today. The grilled veggies excited me.

~J Happy Birthday Again

Emily- I will give you Stella if I can have Henry for lunch?

Davey- We did some investigation, the answer will surprise you...

Azucar- You are awesome.

Auntie- You did not talk to much. We could've talked longer. (And I have a crush on your perfect skin-toned K. Your husband isn't so bad either...)

We still haven't decided about the wall. GC6 does bring up a good point...

Kate- I wish I could say I made those pom poms like you did. They were actually made from the loving hands of Kristen of Denimville. It would take me a month no doubt. (P.S. I love your avatar photo!)

Justine- Thanks for the tip about Julie (She's Julie to me.)

Bek- One of these days you will be here for the celebrations and then it will be time to REALLY party!

QS- You were mentioned at the party over the speakers by a crying ~J--so it was like you were there in spirit.

And I agree with you on the "enjoy it" royalties. It's the least I could do, let everyone in on my phrase. I worked hard to own it too!

May- Addie is a CUPCAKE. Very delish!
