Let it be known that the first meal in our Retro House consisted of Uncle Chup's waffles with nutella, strawberries and syrup served to our delightful unpackers (actually sang while they worked) Emma, Winnie, Emily and Olivia. They labored with such energy into the late night hours that they fell to the spell of exhaustion while cuddling up in our kingly-sized guest bed.
Does anyone have a link to some great ideas for organizing dishes in my fantastic built-in hutches? (As seen in the background of this dining room photo.)

I think I'm going to love your house. Maybe I could see it tomorrow? Maybe another day? I love new things.
May, your wish is my command. You buy dinner. I show-off my house. Deal?
I am in need of the same link,cJane. I too have a built in with lovely glass in the doors and it's gonna be a loooong time before I can fill it up with Le Cruesets.
When I wanna make my sister mad I put tacky things like vitamin bottles, a hanger and some dvd's in there.
Although here is something you may or may not be able to use... my cupboards have these little wooden strips nailed onto the bottom of the shelves so IF I had anything cool to display, they would prop up nicely on those wooden strips. This is just one of those neat-o things I have realized about my place, 8 months after the fact.
BTW, what is the proper pronunciation of Le Crueset?
Le (rhymes with 'the') Cruh-zay
it already is looking so cute.
I think NIE would be a great link. She seems to have this sort of talent.
I can't wait to see more pic's of your new home.
One of my favoritist blogs is Making it lovely. She redid her hutch a few weeks back and I swooned! I wished (coveted actually) her hutch and all its goodness. Go check it out!
Making it Lovely
I think you love her whole blog.
I love the name Retro House.
Martha Stewart has a bajillion open cabinets in her TV show kitchen that I like. Simple but nice.
Hi Courtney, I was just introduced to the Segullah blog and read your article on your and Lucy's ultrasound. It really was beautiful and touching. My heart truly goes out to Lucy.
On a lighter note, you know who you should talk to about interior design is your good cousin Katie. She is fantastic at it!
That dining nook looks so lovely. The built in hutches are perfect. Looks like you have great lighting too. Next time I am down your way, I will have to come visit your quaint little cottage.
Oh heck, in the comment above I meant I think you *will* love her whole blog.

p.s. i have built-in cabinets in my dining room, too. on the back of them i glued a a lovely, patterned green paper (to match my walls). it makes everything in the cabinet look much better.
