Last week's skin graft surgery (using her own skin, if you will recall) was successful. Doctors wanted at least 30% to take (typically, the body does not accept the whole skin graft) and we were told that 50% took. Of course this means that she will have many surgeries in the future. In fact, we are told that she will have another skin graft (her own skin again) on Friday. Thus the life of a burn patient. Patience for the patient is how I feel.
Our devoted Christian is now alert and becoming more aware of the situation. It is an immensely emotional time for him as you can imagine. Everything is baby steps, both physically and emotionally. But from all reports, I can tell that he is holding to his faith and letting our prayers carry him. He loves Stephanie so much.
We thank so many of you out there not only for your prayers, donations and strength but for also allowing us our privacy at this time. Our families feel hopeful while realizing that the path to recovery will be long. Medical updates will slow down as bodies stabilize. Thanks for refilling our canteens (so to speak) on this journey. Every comment helps, every shared story or testimony shared is read and received into our collective energy of hope.
I think all of us can say that our lives will never be the same again.
For the better. For the better.
And this is their gift to us.

«Oldest ‹Older 1 – 200 of 225 Newer› Newest»praying here in Utah.. thank you for the updates...
Thank you for sharing your life with all of us. The updates are always refreshing...especially good news!! Christian is such a strong warrior!! And Stephanie is an Angel in spirit changing many lives. We will continue to pray for Christian & Stephanie and ALL of you!
Oh Christian, how my heart aches for him!! May God's blessings continues to shine down upon you and strengthen you all.
Thank you for allowing us to support you, and thank you for the updates. You are continually in my prayers.
I am so happy to hear that the skin graft took so well. And that both Stephanie and Christian continue to fight.
May the prayers and comfort continue to carry them and you and your families as you continue on this difficult journey.
My father is a burn survivor. He was in a gas explosion that burned his head and his hands severely. I was a baby in my mom's tummy at the time it happened. He turned 73 this year.
Continue to pray and hope.
Will continue to pray for your family. Your posts are great to read, whether it's a patient update or just a story on how the kids are doing. I'm a mom of 4 too and can't imagine… they are truly blessed to have you in their lives.
Just a comment from someone else you don't know... I've been following your blog for a few weeks now, and wanted to let you know that I've been thinking of you and your family with a prayer in my heart. I check in every morning to see how Stephanie and Christian are doing, and to be inspired by your beautiful writing. It doesn't seem quite fair that I get to be edified by you, when I am sure there are so many times in a day that you would need that yourself. For what it's worth, know that you have a friend in Spanish Fork who thinks about you and the wonderful things you are doing for your sister daily.
Tamsin
Thank you so much for this update. None of us mean to pry ever. We just love them so much and want to hear. We will continue to pray and wait for whatever you want to tell us. I know privacy is much needed. You have been great sharing. Bless you all!
c jane thank you for the updates. I can't imagine what you are going through as a family. My daily prayers inclulde you and yours and will of course continue to do so!
Amazing how much the Lord trusts us sometimes isn't it?
I have wondered much about the emotional toll that this experience would have, especially with Christian in better shape and his earlier cognizance of it all as Stephanie still struggles so intensely. That has to be one heavy, heavy load to bear.
It is a wonderful thing to hear such good news of Stephanie's surgery. Let's continue to hope and pray that the success rate will remain.
God bless you all.
Our prayers are still with you all from Ohio.
I thought about Stephanie while doing yoga the other day. Is she able to have music in her room? Yoga music is so relaxing and uplifting.
I did it for her. Just like I've been kissing my kids with extra "oomph" for her and Christian.
God bless you all.
(any word on those adorable T's we voted on?)
Thank you for sharing your updates not only about Nie and Christian, but of the children as well.
You have opened your family up to millions, all because of the love of Nie and you her family.
I myself feel blessed to have come across your sisters blog and now yours. Our prayers are with all of you through this trying time. May Christian keep his strength, courage and guide himself through his faith to bring him through this challenging time.
Once again, thank you to your family making many of us truly look at each day as a gift involving faith, love, hope and most importantly FAMILY!
My prayers are always with you. Thank you for sharing your beautiful stories and letting us have a window into your family.
Sending love and prayer from MN...
Praying in Texas...
Wishing you all strength and patience as the healing process takes place.
Thank you for the updates, I am a devoted reader!
-Lucy Pound
My prayers and love go out to you. Thank you for this update.
I just want you to know that I am deeply concerned and also deeply hopeful for the Nielsons. Thank you for keeping us all updated, they have been in my daily thoughts and prayers. You too are in my prayers, all the family that is staying strong despite the gravity of the situation. I wish you all continued strength and light and love.
Thanks for the update. I have been following your updates for quite some time. I just wanted you to know that many thoughts and prayers leave our hearts daily for Stephanie, Christian, and your entire family. I live in Oregon and I was visiting Provo last weekend for the BYU game and saw a couple of balloons floating in the air. I instantly thought of the Nielsons, and it just put a smile on my face. I also wanted to share a favorite scripture of mine. It has really helped me when I am going through my own personal battles...thought I would pass it along. "Thus saith the Lord unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God's. Ye shall not need to fight in this battle; set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the Lord with you...fear not, nor be dismayed; tomorrow go out against them: for the Lord will be with you." *2 Chronicles 20:15,17
I know that the Lord is right there fighting for and with your entire family as you are going through this. Keep on fighting, all of you, because the Lord is.
I've been listening to this song nearly everyday, and I can't help but think of Stephanie, mainly for the lyrics, "The best things grow from the worst disasters, the best things grow when we begin again."
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N5bQZuv6vhk
Lives are changed forever now. It's all so bittersweet.
She sings this song about a Christopher, so it reminds me of you guys as as well.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSAHH9t_MF4
I'm too lazy to make the links pretty, forgive me.
Bless all of you.
Thank you for the updates. Your family is an amazing example of how I want to be!
I can't offer my prayers, as I don't pray. But I can offer my thoughts for your amazing family.
I am sure on some front we have very little in common. (See my prayer comment) But I certainly can understand your great love for your family and in that way we have everything in common.
But I have a great belief in the power of people to come together to help others what has happened on the blogosphere affirms my faith in that.
I can only imagine how hard this has to be for everyone. Christian must be struggling so much. The genesis of this situation must leave him with such powerful guilt.
But I can see from your sister's blog how much he has done for her. How powerfully he loves his family. We can't change the past, only shape the future and I am confident he will do so magnificantly!
It's great to hear some good news. We will continue to pray that the Lord will bless your loved ones and give them health and strength to continue loving each other and raising their babies.
Sending prayers and love from NJ
Courtney,
Thank you for allowing us in the life of you and your family. As a avid reader of Stephanies journey, I say a prayer each and everyday.I ma happy to hear Christian is growing stronger each day. I hope the kids are doing well, as they have an incredible family..I say a prayer for you and Lucy as well. You are the warrior Moms....
Gigi
prayers for christian and stephanie. may their family soon be reunited!
I don't normally comment, but I read everyday (sometimes more than once!). I never knew Nie Nie or her blog until after the accident.
I pray that the grafts will continue to take, that Christian will continue to be strong and have faith, and I pray more than anything that their children will never know fear and loss, only the loving arms of their parents and their family.
p.s. "The will of God will never take you to where the grace of God will not protect you."
I am lifting up your family to Jesus every day, thank you for the updates, it is nice to know how to specifically pray for them right now.
Hi Jane,
I've been a fan of your sister's blog from November of last year when I first discovered her. In fact she's the reason I started my own blog..
I was really shocked and sad to have learnt of the accident when it did weeks ago. I didnt know what to say, still dont know what words could possibly help. Have been praying and asking kids to join in our nightly prayers as well. I'm sure the prayers of all these good people wont go unheard and God-willing, this story will have a happy ending.
You are one terrific sister to Stephanie, taking care of her kids and then some. As with all the rest of you. God Bless You.
Great news! Hearing such a hopeful future really brightens up my day.
Thank you so much for your updates. I was introduced just a few weeks ago to Nies story. I've since read almost all of her entries and I can't tell you how much she has really changed my life.
I love how creative she is and all of the unique things she does with all of her children and the love Nie and Christian has is amazing and is making me take the time to value my marriage more.
I can't wait for the day to write Nie herself on her blog and tell her this, until then I will support thru Etsy!
Thank you so much and keeping your entire family in our thoughts and prayers.
Denise in Cincinnati
Every time I read an update, my heart sinks and a few tears are shed. I feel like I've known you and your family for years; my spirit is sad, but hopeful for Steph and Christian. I can only imagine the heartache he is feeling. They've touched me and continue to do so as they brave their way through. Thank you--a part of my spirit belongs to your family.
I believe this is quite a sacrifice so we may all grow in faith and compassion. Surely this family's eternal reward for such a sacrifice will be great beyond measure.
Knowing emotional healing is sometimes the most painful kind of healing, I will increase my faith in prayer for sweet Christian's healing.
It's amazing how close I feel to you and your family considering that you're absolute strangers (but I think my sister Jennie might actually know you through Segullah?) I pray for you and hope for you. And I read everything you write with baited breath, hoping for updates that are encouraging. Know that you are making a huge difference in the world. This blog is a gift to all of us just as Christian and Stephanie are a gift to you.
You are such an inspiration to me, as are Stephanie and Christian.
Thank you for blogging and making differences on the lives of people all across the world.
-Amy from Canada
You don't know how much of a support YOU and your family have been to many of us.
Your faith and testimony through a Job-worthy trial has strengthened me as I struggle with the everyday trials that, though real to me, are simply nothing.
Thank you for sharing such a personal journey with us.
This really has affected me -- the entire situation, following their progress, and reading your site every day. I am not lying when I saw this has truly made me slow down and become MUCH more aware of what I have to be thankful for, and much less whiny about when things go "wrong." You are having a positive impact on untold numbers of people. So feel our love for you.
Courtney --- you deserve so much credit for everything you have done in the wake of this accident. Your prayers, your love, your tender care for three additional children, your tireless and hopeful blogging, your supreme fundraising efforts ... all of this with no questions asked, no regret, no complaining, and often with a traveling husband. I applaud you. Stephanie and Christian could not ask for a better sister/sister-in-law. GOD BLESS YOU and your beautiful, strong and wonderful family.
More prayers and love coming your way from Washington DC.
Hi Courtney,
I so appreciate your thoughtful posts and check in every day to see how things are going. You are all in my thoughts and prayers daily.
My dad was burned over 40% of his body while serving in the military in Vietnam. It's not something he speaks about, but following this journey with Stephanie and Christian has given me new insight into what my parents went through almost forty years ago. My dad has lived a very full and normal life. I'm hoping the same will happen for your family.
Lots of love to you.
Thank you for the updates. S
I will continue to keep all of you in my prayers!
Usually I lurkingly read updates and just pray for your family. But today I thought I should de-lurk and let you know that we are here and we are praying for you. I am so touched by your family's example.
Your story has really deepened my appreciation for my family and the small things in life. Thank you for sharing so openly (and sacrificing some of your privacy in the process).
I am pleased to hear of the success of Stephanie's surgery, and I am continuing to pray.
You are strong. You are faithful. You patient, trusting, and unselfish. You are inspiring. You will continue to be blessed. I am grateful to you for sharing your light and testimony with us all, and grateful to Stephanie and Christian for reminding us what is truly important. We're cheering you all on.
Thank you for the update. I feel tense just going to your page to see what the news is, so I imagine it's extremely difficult for you and your family to have patience.
I feel so badly for Christian. It is going to be very hard for him, faith and all. Thank goodness he has you all.
Courtney, thank you. I'm astounded at the generosity of you and the rest of your family in sharing with us the journey that Stephanie and Christian are on. Their story, and yours, and the mind boggling support of the blogging community has broken my heart wide open. As I've followed her nienie blog I've laughed, admired her wit and craftiness, felt warmed by the love she has for her family, tried her recipes (yum), rejoiced that her spiritual beliefs give her strength, wondered at her political choices but vive la difference!, and just felt grateful every single day that her life touched mine via our keyboards.
In my own way, I am praying for her and Christian every day. And for you too. Thank you for sharing, in such a compassionate and witty way.

Thank you so much for the update on Stephanie. You know, it is so strange that I don't even know Stephanie or Christian but I have been reading the nieniedialogues. I am almost done reading and I feel like I personally know their precious family. Stephanie truly is a remarkable person, a creative genious, and a fantastic mother. As I plan to have kids in the next few years, I have been so inspired to be like Stephanie. She makes being a mother sounds like the best job in the world.
I am so glad to hear that things are looking good. From personal experience with a family member in ICU and in the hospital for 3 months, I know how long and hard this is. Patience and prayer is all I can say. The Lord is watching over each of you so closely. They are going to make it.
Dearest cjane,
Everytime I read your blog, I come away with tears in my eyes and my heart full of prayer. I know it sounds incredibly cheesy to put it that way, but it is true. My heart is just breaking for all of you- yet I am trusting and believing that God will heal Stephanie and Christian and that they will get their life back. And you seriously blow me away every single day with your strength!
I have been reading your blog and Stephanie's blog since the accident, but I am one of those who has never commented. I just wanted to let you know that you have both inspired me to be better - a better wife, sister, daughter, aunt, and prepare to be a better mother. I find myself checking your blog everyday to see how Christian and Stephanie are doing and your family as well. Your writing brings joy to my heart:) Thank you so much for the updates and inspiration! I have been praying for all of you and have put your names in the DC Temple. I'm so glad the skin grafts took and that Christian seems to be more alert. I will continue to pray for you all!
Wonderful news even if it is "baby steps". I know that both Stephanie and Christian will fight to get back to their children and their very special life together. I have two sisters that are very special to me and I appreciate all you, and your siblings, are doing to make sure that life goes on for Claire, Jane, Ollie and Gigs. I need more pictures please. God bless you!
I know that all of our prayers will continue for a long long time!!
Thank you so much for sharing what is so personal to you and your family at this time. I just love you and your family, even though we have never met. Prayers continue.
it is our prayer every day that they will both be healed and restored to their family. we pray for strength for you and their children.
I've been reading your blogs each day and my heart goes out to you and your family. When my brother was burned on 65% of his body our emotions rollercoasted with every skin graft, every infection, and all the hard work in his rehab. Just know that stress and anxiety eat up a lot of energy. As caretakers, please take some well needed moments to give your bodies the rest it needs. I pray that Stephanies body will be strong enough to overcome all that it is going through, that Christian and Stephanie will be able to support each other through this long road of recovery that they will face. I remember waiting months for the doctors to upgrade my brother from the critical list. Those times were so excruciating for our family. I pray that the Lord will comfort you and give you hope and strength. Please remember to take time outs for yourselves.
50%!!! I'm SO glad it's "taking" and her body is responding to it ... onward and upward Stephanie, go, go go! Continued love and prayers for both of them, the bebes, and your whole family!
Thank you for your update. it was great to hear the good news regarding Stephanies grafts. My thoughts are with your family, the Nielson children (all so adorable), and most especially Christian.
You write beautifully, and I appreciate all that you take the time to let us know all that goes on. I know you do it out of the great love you have for your sister and her entire family (it is evident that it bursts from your pores), but it is still wonderful for all of us out here in blogland. Thank you.
"God understands our prayers even when we can't find the words to say them." -Author Unknown
Our thoughts and prayers are endless for your entire family. Thank you (and NieNie) for sharing so much with all of us.
I think and pray for your family daily. I have now spread the word to several friends as well. We are all captivated by the loving spirit of your entire family, and think of you all often. You have your own little praying pod over here in Manhattan!
Thank you for the updates, and may God bless you all!
Thanks for the update Courtney.
They are both physically strong and fit people this will help them so much in the days ahead. They know what training is like for a goal both spiritually, mentally and physically, this again will help them.
Thank you for taking the time and brave step of letting so many strangers world wide share and support your family at this time. (The Chief is an utter darling).
As that I don't pray, positive vibes and thoughts are coming Christian's and Stephanie's way from Bloomington, IN. I look forward to the time when I can read Stephanie's blog when she posts one rather than sitting misty-eyed reading old posts.
Kimberly
I grew up with a girl who has always remained in my memory although I haven;t seen her in 35 years :>) She was a burn victim back in the 70's. She was burned over 95% of her body. I adored her and I loved her perfect soul and didn't notice anything else :>)
I pray for your sister and her husband during this time. I am happy that she is a fighter and that technology is so advanced and their faith is so strong.
((hugs)) Laura Solomon
I want to say something that will make you realize how you have touched the lives of so many people you do not know. The photo of stephanie today is more than beautiful. Thank you for sharing it with us. I know she will be back in our lives becasue God knows how much we love and need her inspirations!
I pray for her recovery. I look forward to the day when she holds her family in her arms again. For a mother there is nothing better!
Your entire family continues to be in my daily prayers.
Thank you for sharing your faith with all of us.
We seemingly come from 2 different worlds - geographically and religiously and most probably politically. Before reading yours and your sister's blog I never (knowingly) met someone who is Mormon. (and obviously still haven't except through this blog!) And now, I read your blog everyday and feel inspired by your strength and unwaivering faith. Your sister, brother-in-law, nieces and nephew are blessed to have you in their life...and so, I am. I hope knowing that you have touched so many lives -- including the life of this Jewish, liberal Democrat from NY -- in some small way gives you strength.
Lillian
Thank you for continuing to share your life and updates on Stephanie and Christian with all of us in bloggerland. I continue to think of and pray for all of you, extra prayers for Stephanie tomorrow.
Praying in Oregon for this beautiful family!!
What great news! When I read that the surgery had been declared a success I actually pumped my arm in the air and said "yes!"
I am so happy that Stephanie and Christian are making progress. Thank you again so much for sharing this journey with us. I can honestly say that Stephanie and Christian's example, your example, and the examples of your family have changed my life for the better. I'm more mindful of the small things, more thankful for all of my everyday miracles, and more determined than ever to be the best wife and (someday)mother I can be.
I will keep the prayers coming for all of you.
Prayers for all of you will continue...may you find comfort and strength.
I am no different from anyone else who visits your blog...just hoping to somehow express hope and love to people I do not even know, yet feel as if I do. It is strange in a wonderful kind of way, this connection we all feel with your family.
Thank you for all that you are doing on your family's behalf. You, Courtney, are an inspiration to so many. I wish you and your family happiness and peace as you make the journey to finding your new normal. It will be beautiful in its own way.
Your family is such an inspiration of hope, faith, and love. I have had such a renewed determination to be a better wife and mother from reading these blogs. Thank you.
Hey Courtney, thanks for sharing updates and hope and your good cheer with all of us. I'm so happy that Stephanie's skin graft took at a better than average 50%. You write so well and with such beauty. I wish you could post every hour. More and more love and prayers from us in VA!
October is going to be a great month for them. It is Stephanie's favorite month and I'm sure the fall bounty and beauty will extend to her family through this time. My family continues to pray for all of you. You will never know how completely you all have changed my life.
I first learned of Stephanie and Christian while watching the Today show a few weeks ago. Since then I have read most of the archives on the Nie Nie Dialogues as well as your blog. I think about the two of them everyday. I pray for their beautiful children to be strong. She is truly a one of a kind woman and has inspired me to slow down and appreciate my family more. They are so blessed to have you and the rest of the family keeping things going for them while they recover. I look forward to the day when I click on Nienie and instead of an oldie there is an update from her.
I read you every morning... hoping for an update. Privacy is all yours, though. It is essential in the healing process. But know the world is watching and waiting and praying and loving.
Many thoughts & prayers still being sent your way from Charleston, Illinois. Not a day goes by without some sort of conversation taking place about you and your family and particularly how strong and devoted you are to each other. It's really an example to everyone & reminds us to be better to each other every day because you never know what tomorrow could bring.
We continue to pray for you and your whole family and I too thank you as you allow us blogging world to share your journey down the long road of recovery. Big hugs from Iowa!
"Patience for the patient is how I feel."...absolutely. YES!
Not only is it an immensely emotional time for Christian, but for your entire family, including you. I wanted to note ... its an honor for ALL of us that you share so much insight to Stephanie, Christian, the kids, you, The Chief, Chup, and your family with your thoughts, stories and updates. I realize while it might be therapeutic for you...it also must take time away from them and yourself.
I too have re-read all of Nie's posts as I miss her so. I admit that I selfishly run to the computer every morning for updates on you all. But as I read your post today....I need to tell you and reiterate...we all understand if you need to take time for you, the kids, the family. Of course some privacy is needed for contemplation, quiet time for your own inner thoughts and prayers. I hope you do not feel pressure to keep us all in the loop and only do and write what you WANT to do, C Jane. Your plate is overflowing (and I am not talking about with tasty from the Provo Bakery!). I am continually amazed at how you handle all you do, especially as a new mother yourself.
We do love them so much. And will to continue to carry them with our good wishes and prayers in the months to come for a fast recovery, physically and emotionally. I think there is nothing more we all want to see ...than the Nielsen family and Jimmy all together again, embracing. laughing, eating dinner, making crafts and letting balloons float to the heavens with their wishes. But this will all take time and patience. And we all must remember that.
Sending strength, love and prayers from San Diego.
Many prayers and special thoughts for Nie, Christian, and your family.:) Thanks for the daily updates.
As the oldest of four daughters I want to tell you that you and your family are an inspiration. Thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Thank you so much for your faith and testimony you put into this blog. We lost 10 great friends from our town in a plane crash just a little after your sisters and I can add my testimony of prayer to yours. Prayer is such a powerful tool that works as a healer as well as a comforter. Because of this, please know that my family is praying for you and for your family.
Praying here in Chicago. You will never, ever know the lives you have touched. When this first happened, and I was telling everyone I knew about it, most people just brushed it off as another tragedy. Once they started reading the blog, they became personally involved. It became as much a part of their lives as it has my own. We love you, and pray for you to continue your own health and strength to keep taking such great care of their dear children. Your reward is great for this sweet selfless service.
Dear Courtney,
Thank you for opening up your family and sharing pieces of your daily life with the children and with Stephanie and Christian! Reading Stephanie's blog over the last couple of weeks has inspired me to be a better mother. Thank you for the updates. We will continue to keep your family in prayer. I am thinking of you all every single day!
God Bless!
Thanks for the update--what a great sister, aunt, sister-in-law, etc. you are for doing everything you do!
Thank you for always taking time out of your very busy day, to keep all of us informed on the latest. The blessings which you are allowing us to have are great. We pray many times a day for Steph & Christian, your families & those precious children. We love supporting you & this cause. We still see balloons everyday here in Vancouver. My heart junps for joy!
Think every day about Stephanie and Christian. You are continually in my prayers. Their children are so lucky to have you in their lives. Thanks for the updates
Your family is in my thoughts and prayers every day.
I happened across Stephanie's blog a few days after the accident. Since then, I've read each and every one of her blog entries - some more than once. And now yours is the first one I want to see each day - not just for updates on them, but to catch another glimpse of the incredible extended family they have.
Thoughts of Stephanie, Christian, and their beautiful children pass through my head several times each day.
During my morning prayers at church...thinking of their wonderful faith
while exercising...thinking of Stephanie's healthy way of life
while taking care of the daily duties with my children...thinking of the special and meaningful ways Stephanie clearly enriched each day for her four children
while greeting my husband at the end of the day...thinking about the devotion that Stephanie and Christian have for each other
And, lots of times - when I find that perhaps I'm wasting precious time - I think of them...and how they wouldn't do that. It motivates me to get moving again.
I've always believed that everything happens for a reason - and that God never gives us more than we can handle. Or, at least handle with the loving help of family and friends.
Looking at Stephanie and Christian, and their darling children, one can't help but think "WHY them?" But in reading the numerous comments from people all around the world, it's clear they were chosen to inspire - and that's exactly what they are doing. They are showing us how to love life and appreciate all it has to offer. They are teaching us how to be better wives, husbands, parents, and friends.
They have a long road ahead of them - and I pray each day for their continued strength, as well of the strength of their families who are so devoted to them.
Why them? Because they are strong enough to make it through this - and have the ability to make a difference in the lives of countless others while on this journey.
I, too, follow this blog and Nie's blog every day. I have hope for your Nie and Christian. Having experienced grief, my spirit soars with each step forward and prays with each step back.
You have been a "light on the hill" and many of us are the better for it.
Sending losts of prayers from this little corner of the world.
Sending more prayers and strength your way. As we all understand your families privacy is indeed needed, please know that the entire world is watching, hoping for miracles, strength, healing and love.
All my prayers and thoughts...
K~Ohio
Hold to the faith. Our Heavenly Father is with your entire family every step of this long journey.
We'll continue to pray and show our support in every little way we can.
Love From Arizona.
Thanks for letting us into your lives in this way. I continue to pray for you ALL. I can not imagine the pain (emotional and physical) that they are in. We will keep praying. One day at a time. Just take it one day at a time. When that gets to be too much, try just one hour or one minute at a time. Just keep going. You are all in my prayers.
Praying here in Arizona. I believe in the power of faith. I know that we can move mountains...especially in such grand numbers! Thank you for your blog...and for your heart!
Tears are shed and prayers are said here in Fort Smith, Arkansas for your dear loved ones. May our Heavenly Father's comfort and peace be with you through this trying time.
Thoughts, hope and prayers coming your way from Vancouver, Canada. Thank you for sharing this story and inspiring us all!
I have become an avid reader of yours C Jane, and am just greatful to be along on this journey with you and your family. I am new to the Nie Nie dialoges,(only since the accident have I been introduced to Nie Nie and her amazing ability to share her wonderful motherhood adventure with the world) But your words also uplift me when I feel like I should be the one trying to uplift you. My thoughts and prayers are with Nie Nie and your family. I just wanted you to know that! I live up here in Spokane, WA and work at the Temple twice a month and for the past two months (August and September)I have been adding the Nielson Family to the prayer roll every time I go in. I can't do much, but I just wanted you to know that you are in our thoughts and prayers and I'm greatful for the example of strength and love your family has shown.
You guys are amazing. I'm holding good thougths for you all.
Hi Courtney,
I wanted to take a moment and comment for the first time. I heard about your family several weeks ago, and have been following ever since.
I've read most of Stephanie's blog posts (and I'm working on reading yours!), and it is so refreshing to see her example of a loving wife and mother. She has touched my life and has strengthened my resolve to be the best that I can be for my family, by God's grace.
I was burned in a kitchen accident when I was 3 years old (parents, guard your children from hot bacon oil!)...and while difficult at times, I think my burn injury has made me a stronger person. I know that Stephanie and Christian will pull through this stronger than ever before.
My prayers are with your family. God is able to do immeasurably more than we could ask or imagine~what a hope to cling to!
Sarah
thank you thank you thank you. i know we all appriciate hearing anything you can tell us. i can't even begin to understand how overwhelming this must be for all of you, especially christian. i have no doubt that they will both recover fully, i just have this really positive feeling about it, no doubt it's because of your own positivity, the power of which is awesome. :)
Prayers from the Denver area are for you and your family!
We are praying here in Alabama for all of you - for healing - for strength - for comfort. What a beautiful family you have - full and overflowing with the love of God.
I, too, have been praying and today this poem came to my mind:
"Grow old along with me! The best is yet to be, The last of life, for which the first was made; Our times are in His hand who saith, "A whole I planned, Youth shows but half; trust God: See all, nor be afraid!" --- Robert Browning
I am praying for all the best that is yet to be for each one of you in your family. For Christian's heart, Stephanie's body, your whole world!... each of you to feel those hands and not be afraid. There is a "whole" planned. xo
Much Love,
Misha
Stephanie and Christian are on my mind every day when I take my walks and pray for their strength and recovery.
Stephanie will be so grateful to you Courtney. Thanks for sharing your joys and sorrows with us. You are a BEAUTIFUL writer and person!
(I especially liked the post about how they met - so precious.)
Always on my mind.
xxx
Courtney,
Thank you for the update. I am so glad to hear that the graft took so well. I hope that the progress will remain as good in the future.
My thoughts often land on Stephanie and Christian as I move through my day. I have read her blog and she has made me feel better about being a stay-at-home mother.
The lessons I have learned from their experiences has made me so grateful for what I have. It is easy to dwell on what isn't going right, than to 'count our blessings'.
I keep Stephanie and Christian in my prayers, as well as their children. You and your family are an inspiration to all of us. You not only say that you are "family", you practice it in full-measure. You are all so blessed to have one another.
As Christian makes his way back into his life, I wish him all the strength he will need to accept what is. In the not to distant future, Stephanie will be back, stronger than she was before and just as beautiful.
Thank you for letting us in and allowing us to love your family.
Melainie Garcia
Thank you so much for the update. I didn't even know about Stephanie's blog until after the accident, but since I started reading, there is not a day that goes by that I don't think of her and her family and often offer up prayers for the wholeness of everyone in your family.
-A Sister In Christ
thank you for filling us in on these details. you show us so much of your private life on your blog -- your day to day experience, your religious faith, intimate photos of the children -- and so i thank you for sharing this update about christian and stephanie. i imagine it is hard to stay upbeat about all of this and i hope you have someone you can share your most private thoughts to, someone who is there just for you.
Hello Courtney and family,
I want to first say THANK YOU for sharing this journey with us... I check the sites faithfully every day and when not checking, Nie, Christian, the babies and your entire family are never far from my mind and heart. I lift my prayers heavenward for Nie and Christian's recovery and am grateful that her first surgery went well. Keep fighting, Nie, you can do this with your Heavenly Father's help and grace but for now, rest easy knowing your precious babies are lovingly cared for by your awesome sister and family!
I understand the need for privacy and so I respect that. Please know we don't mean to intrude on that out here in blog world. We are grateful for what you ARE willing and able to share. We've come to love them too! Continuing to pray, Lori
i am speechless with emotion for all that you and your family are enduring in this time ... may you find some comfort in God's Love and Presence being offered from so many, so far.
I am sure it is difficult to decipher the fine line of sharing and privacy. However, we are all grateful for the updates that we do get. I am certain the reality of the situation is intense.. especially as Christian becomes aware. We are all still pulling for stephanie AND christian and hope that she pulls through, and that Christian has the strength to endure the emotional hard ship that I am sure is upon him know. I truly cannot imagine. It makes me cry just to think about it. Much love.
Your entire family is an inspiration to me. Thank you for sharing your stories with all of us. Prayers and best wishes to you all.
Reading the posts and updates reminds me to be a better person, to savor each day, and to laugh more.
Sending thoughts and prayers for healing to all of you.
We are continuing to pray for all of you. I know that each phase of recovery will be an adjustment, but things will get better!! (For us, things had to get worse before they got better, but as long as you know that, you can get through it.) You are all loved by Heavenly Father and things will work out all right. Isaiah 41:13 "For I the Lord God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee." Consider yourselves all hugged and held really tight! (Our bishop's wife gave the best hugs - she didn't let go too soon!)
I too feel that the love of God and all the prayers of all of us people that don't even know your family are helping them. Little things like 50% instead of the normal 30% is proof that prayer is working. I believe that the Neilson's have a bigger future plan that they need to finish. I believe that everything happens for a reason, even though we do not always understand why. My lesson in all of this is that I always make sure that I hug and kiss my family when I leave and before we go to bed. You just never know what the future holds. The Neilson children are very lucky to have family that just stepped in and tried to make their little lives as normal as possible. You are there to fill the gap buy not try to replace. I feel that God is keeping everyone stronge so your family can provide a wonderful lesson and story for everyone involved. Love and Prayers from Missouri.
Thank you for the updates. I did a post on Nie Nie's Whole Wheat Pizza. We devoured it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Blessing to all of you.
Shannon in Austin
Praying here in Iowa. Thank you for the updates. Although we do not know your family, our hearts and prayers go out in behalf of you. We have been inspired by your family and your strentgh.
You all are in my thoughts and prayers constantly. I pray that Christian and Stephanie will have the strength they need (both physically, emotionally and spiritually) to heal, and that their sweet babies will have the comfort they need. I also pray for you and Lucy, to have the continued strength you need to take care of their children. Much love to all of you.
My great uncle ran over my great aunt with the car when they were in their 80's. My aunt did everything she could to get better for him. She just couldn't bare the thought of him suffering from that accident one minute. Purely accident. I think Stephanie is doing the same. This is a love we don't see everyday and I am thankful every post you are sharing this with us. Praying in MO!
We all appreciate you sharing the intimate details and updates. I know sometimes you may want to crawl in a hole and close your eyes until all is well, but you are so strong and I feel your spirit so strongly when I read your blog. For that, I am thankful. It gives me a piece of hope that even when things go terribly wrong in this life, we take it, learn and grow from it. It will indeed make us as strong as we can be for the next life. You are an angel Courtney and many lives have been touched because of YOU.
Thanks so much for the update. I am praying so hard for stephanie and christian and worry so much that it feels good to at least know their status.
Loving prayers and thoughts for both Christian and Nie are a daily part of my life now. I wish there was more I could do!
I read your blog long before this tragic accident, and even occasionally peeked at Stephanie's, but since the crash and as the focus of your blog has become so intimate, I have to say that while I've always thought you were funny and wise, I now think you are an inspiration.
You, through your words of hope and encouragement, your ability to share with the entire world the necessary adjustments that have taken place with your and their family, have already made it better.
If you feel your canteen gets refilled with comments, then know you with your gift for words, and Stephanie and Christian through shining example, supply a well of hope for us all.
All the best for you.
Thank you for sharing and helping. A lot of people get thru your writing not just information about what happen to your sister and brother-in-law, we all get a lot of hope, to see, that we are not alone.
*** share and share alike ****
I like to share with you my thoughts and prayers!
Sorry for my bad English!
Praise be to God in the Highest! That he will give Stephanie and Christian a since of peace, comfort, patience and a knowing that all is well and in good hands while we all wait for their complete recovery....Thank you, Lord.
As I read your blog and Nie's, I cry many tears. Tears of sadness for the hard times you and your family are having, tears of happiness, knowing that the gospel is in your life and mine and the knowledge that comes with it, and tears of reflection, knowing that I can be a better mother and wife than I am. I am grateful to you for letting me read your blog and your sister's and for the wonderful experiences and comments you share to help me realize my potential not only as a wife, and a mother, but also as a Daughter of God. Thank you and I wish you and your family the best. We are praying for you here in Texas.
Kristin, Bedford, TX
I keep thinking of your post about your cousin, and how when it rains it pours. Last week during a RS lesson there was a major downpour outside... almost so loud you couldn't hear the lesson, but inside I felt spiritually like my cup was running over. Sometimes the Lord lets us fill our cups with rain? I ache for your loss and struggles.
Thank you for keeping us updated! It is amazing to me how much I care about someone that I haven't even met.
I have only been following your blog for a few weeks but I feel like I know you and your family.
I have been reading Nie's blog now and then too and I have to say that her positive outlook on being a mom is just so refreshing and uplifting.
I think about her all of the time and I pray that she can recover quickly and get back to doing what she loves - raising those cute kids.
In the meantime, what an angel you are for taking the kids into your home and loving them (almost) as much as their mom does.
I"m one of the many strangers, that has fallen in love with you and your sister and the entire clan(you all are so easy to love). I just sent my favortie nie post to vintagejane. The impact of your beautiful family is so deep and far reaching. I'm proud to see such honest, devoted members of the church, represent the gosple in action so well.
This story is meant to be heard, and I pray that you'll have the strength to keep telling it, and that someday your sister will take back the riens.
I agree with your need for privacy. You've been so generous with updates but, there are many things that are meant for family only.
I hope that God is blessing you and yours as much as we all have been blessed by you and nie nie.
Prayers are being sent up from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I will also be in mass tomorrow morning praying for them as my special intention. Stay strong, the Lord is listening.
I don't even know the right words to express how your family has touched my life and made my testimony stronger. I don't know you or Stephanie personally, I just happened to run across your blogs a while back and have been inspired by both of you to look at life differently, to be a better wife, and you both have excited me to be a mother one day.
Your and Stephanie's testimony of the gospel is so strong. It is such a good example to everyone. I know that our loving Heavenly Father will continue to bless you through this difficult time.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Your writing is lovely and I hope that you dont feel burdensome pressure from all of us out here reading your words. We love and pray for your family and for Stephanie, Christian, and all the little ones. Thank you for the wonderful example that you are to us all. I pray for your family every day. Thank you again.
Laura C., TN
Praying here in the U.K too.
God bless you.
My husband was burned badly last summer in an accident, and while he wasn't burned nearly as bad as your sister and her husband, i can say that I do understand a tiny little bit of what you are experiencing. the unknown, the fears....big huge hugs. and lots of prayers going out to christian and stephanie and you too!
tara
We understand your need for privacy. There is so much to deal with. I'm strengthened by your strength through such a difficult thing. Your family has affected my life for the better and I'm grateful. I can't help but wonder if Stephanie and Christian accepted this as part of their plan so they could affect so many lives for the better. Still, it's difficult. I'm sure they will pull through. We're praying, hoping, loving, crying, feeling gratitude for how they've touched our lives - even though we don't know them. But, somehow our spirits seem to.
Thank you for the updates. I have been so concerned about the grafting. God is so good to give us what we need in the moment. I am praying you find your springs (both you warriors in Utah and dear Christian) overflowing with his grace and courage. I am praying comfort, healing and deep, deep peace for beautiful Nie. With love from Seattle, alecia
i know my life has definitely be changed, and thank you for it. you have no idea (maybe you do) how much you and your family have affected and changed me and i thank you from the bottom of my heart for it. i love you
Warm and healing thoughts are coming from Illinois to you and your two patients...your family is amazing.
There's no doubt that because of you all, Nie's children will have a wonderful life no matter what comes.
I wish I could tell Nie that her words have helped me to finally consider having children. Her joy in her family is that powerful.
I never say anything, just watch in admiration at your strength from afar. I thought it about time to say hello and tell you how very proud I am of you. My heart swells in thinking of how amazingly you are handling everything.
Stepha[nie]'s outlook on life has touched my soul somehow(as I'm sure she's touched many others.) I found myself putting red lipstick on(I never do!) and POW!! She's right the red lipstick DOES have magical powers!
Thank you, cjane. thank you nie. thank you. thank you.
may your love and strength radiate in the eyes of the children surrounding you.
xo
ps. I'm going to go call my sis right now.
A beautiful photo of Stephanie...you can see from it that she has a gorgeous spirit that will shine through no matter what.
Thank you for the updates, but always remember that none are expected or required. I think that in the blogging world, people come to expect that those who let others into their lives somehow then "owe it" to them to provide personal details on a continual basis. Not so. You are so kind to let us into your world and you have every right to tell us as little information as you want, or none at all. I hope you keep this in mind if you ever have a moment of stress or anxiety about having to update the blog regarding Steph & Christian's status.
All the best thoughts and prayers to you and your family.
Sara
Thanks for the updates Courtney! There isn't a day that passes that I don't think about you, Christian, Stephanie, their children and the rest of your family! You are ALL in my thoughts and prayers. May the Lord continue to bless Christian and Stephanie on the road to recovery. Prayer is a powerful thing, and it's working!!!! Yeah for Stephanie's skin surgery being a success as well. Keep the updates coming!
My heart and prayers go out to your family at this time! I have been looking at life through a different lens since hearing about their accident. Thank you for the updates.
thank you for the updates. I cannot imagine how tough things must be. You are changing lives more than you know. Each day I try to be a better mom and wife just because I have the opportunity to do so. I cherish my kids more and enjoy each minute. I don't know you or Stephanie more than from this blog, but I do pray for her and her family. What an amazing amount of faith you're sharing with all of us. Thank you!
Sending love, prayers, and good wishes. Rest and hope to you and your family. Love from Seattle.
Thank you so much for the update! Prayers are coming from Indiana to all of you.
I was without power for 11 days due to hurricane Ike, and one of my foremost concerns during that time was that I couldn't check on my dear "friend" NieNie!
I cried big silent tears upon reading that Christian was finally able to visit his sweet wife, his eternal companion.
I cried again at the implication that they were conscious through the horrors of the crash and rescue, since Stephanie was able to express her desire to go home and fix dinner for the children. My heart simply broke.
I marvel at the unselfishness of your extraordinary family and the grace with which you let us be a small part of it.
My husband and I were discussing C & S last night, and we couldn't help but be humbly grateful for the knowledge of the resurrection and the perfected body it will bring.
I love the Proverb that says, "Weeping lasts for a night, but joy cometh in the morning." Our prayers are with you, and we continue to add your names to the temple roll.
I am so grateful that Step's skin graft did so well. My prayers are with you and your family. As I told you before, my daughter is married to your cousin Jefferson Pope. As I was speaking with Wendy the other day, I told her how much I love your guys and how your stories bring tears to my eyes every day. I commented that I fell though your stories that I know you already. She express her love of your family to me. Hopefully someday I will get to meet you all. Love, Trish
Thank you for the promising updates on our darling couple. I will continue to pray for them each and everyday as I have been. You are such a strong woman Courtney! The admiration I have for you is beyond words. I feel like I've known your family for years and I think of all of you throughout each day. Thank you for all that you do and for being such an inspiration. I am a better mother because of Stephanie and becausee of you! xoxo
I'm going to the Redlands, CA temple tonight and will add your family to the prayer roll.
Misty Kiley
Thanks for the update! I know We're all really excited about the great news!
I wish you and your family warm wishes and lots of love.
Kudos to Christian, may he keep on truckin'!
I am another who has consistently read, but never commented. Just wanted you to know how much this whole story has touched my life and made me try harder, every day, to be a better mom and wife. Nie and Mr. Nielson's relationship is inspiring to me- and has helped me to try harder with my husband. I also have 4 little ones, and life sure gets busy- but I love the way she wrote about her husband. Thanks for your words Courtney- they are amazing to read and so wise and witty. You are the best sister!
I read your blog everyday and get excited when there are updates on Stephanie and Christian. My family and I pray for you and for Stephanie and Christian.
Oh one more thing, I purchased the Nie Nie necklace and it constantly reminds me of Stephanie, her faith, wit, devotion and love for life is truly inspiring.
I have to say that this story has engulfed me completely. I have been reading backwards on Stephanies blog and I have learned what an amazing and upbeat person she is. I have no doubt that she will pull through this ordeal and take away the positive and magnify it! She will find a way to change lives through this trial and lift up many heads that hang down. Heavenly Father knows that we need someone like Stephanie to draw our eyes heavanward and I am so greatful for her courage and strength. She is a beacon of hope and an inspiration to us all. Thank you for sharing their story. Our prayers are with this precious family.
What can I possibly say that hasn't been said?
I just want to express that
My heart is touched...
My soul aches...
My thoughts are constant...
My touched heart breaks...
Nie and Christian's story and your heartfelt writings,
make me cry...
smile...
pray harder...
appreciate more...
live more fully...
give more often...
love completely...
cherish, treasure, admire, and adore...
I can't thank you enough!!
Everyday I visit your blog to see if things are getting better. And they are! The worse is gone!
I deeply wish Steph and Chris a great recovery.
Congratulation for having such a great family! You deserve all the best.
Mariana,
from Brazil.
Thanks for letting us in on your life and your family. It truly is inspirational the way your family has come together to support your sister and brother-in-law. I'm so happy the news is good today and I will be praying for many more good news days!
I admire your faith and strength and I know Heavenly Father is aware of you and loves you all!
Hello Courtney,
I learned of this accident after it happened, as so many bloggers are rallying together for Nienie and Christian. Upon my first visit to Nienie's blog, I saw Christian and couldn't believe it--Christian was in our newly-wed ward in Provo, he the Sunday School President, my husband, Shane, his first counselor. We were both so sorry, so so sorry, to realize that the Nienie and Christian I kept reading about online were these lovely people with whom we worked with for a short time back in the day. I remember when Christian was in charge of the mother's day flowers that the YW/YM distributed, our ward received beautiful renuculas, rather than the usual withering marigolds. We will pray for you all during this very challenging time. May God be with you.
love,
Becca

Still praying for your sister and her husband.
Everyday I come to this site to check on the status of your loved ones. More than once a day! I am so sorry for what you all are going through. Stephanie and Christian are VERY lucky to have you! I love reading your blog, you are such a great writer!! Thank you for all your nie updates!
Our hearts and prayers are with your beautiful family. We hope all the best for stephanie and her surgeries. Thank you for all the information you have shared up to this point.
Stephanie and Christian have changed my life. I love them. I can't express what they've come to mean to me, and how much I want them both to get better and be together again, with their babies.
Prayers, prayers, prayers.
Thanks for keeping us posted.
Every time I see a picture of Stephanie, I am struck by how beautiful she is! I'm praying that her beautiful, strong spirit is fighting hard. Also praying for Christian as he is going through this incredibly hard time, watching his lovely wife go through what she is. Thanks for the updates, I can't wait for the day you post that all involved are out of the woods.
Dear Cjane and Nie Nie readers -
Help me spread the word!! I have five days left in my 'Headers For Nie Nie' sale!! I am making custom blog headers for anyone who donates $15 or more to the Nie Recovery Fund. It's for a good cause, could your blog use a facelift??
www.headersfornienie.blogspot.com
I feel a connection to you and your family, my father was in a small plane crash in North Scottsdale 4 years ago. He had severe leg injuries (nothing like what your sister and brother in law are dealing with) and is survivor.
To honor our connection, I attempted to make the chocolate crock pot cake yesterday for my family. I told them about your family, that the recipe came from and how hard you all are working at getting thru each day.
My kids ate the cake...even tho it was a little on the over-done side (next time I will turn down the heat to Med High for 3 1/2 hours) and we all agreed that we are blessed to have each other and our health.
Thank you for the sharing the recipe and your story of surviving. There was a time when we could not see the light at the end of the "endless surgery" tunnel with my dad.
God Bless You and those sweet little ones
thank you so much for the continued updates...
your family is on my heart daily...
a day hasn't gone by since I heard about Nie and Mr. Nielson's accident that I haven't thought about them and all that you are doing. sending even more love and prayers
be well-

I'm really at a loss for words when I try to explain how your entire family has inspired me and helped me. Last year, what was supposed to be a routine laser procedure to remove sunspots from my face turned out to be the end of my life as I knew it. The laser was set too high and all of the soft tissue (fat cells) died. My entire face caved in and shriveled up. Losing your face suddenly is so difficult because it's what is held in my husbands hands when he kisses me. It's what makes me want to buy a pretty dress and sit in the shade eating fruit salad at a cafe. It's what my little boy traces with his fingers at night before bedtime. It is what is photographed and will be looked at for generations to come. But what I've learned this year is that we as women are much, much more than a pretty face...and those who love us knew it all along.
Each day I think about your family and say a prayer for Stephanie, Christian, and all the caregivers. You are amazingly strong, and like the others, I look forward to hearing updates. I'll continue to keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.
She is SO beautiful. I am just rivited by this story. She is such an inspiration to me. We would love to see a photo of the hospital room and all the card decorations and love. Thanks for all the updates and inspiration. We are praying for them
Praying in Grand Rapids Michigan....
bless you all, c:)
more prayers from the mid-west!!!

CJane It seems as though everything I want to say is a cliche or already been expressed. I just want to say how PROUD I am to be in the world right now with a person like you. You give hope to each day and are a testiment to Faith and Family. I will continue to read and pray for all of you
Colleen from NJ
I love this picture of Stephanie. You are an amazing sister and have an amazing family. Our prays will continue for both Stephanie and Christian, as well as to you and your family to give you the strength you need to carry on from day to day. Thanks for sharing your lives with us. You are such an inspiration!
My family continues to pray for yours. I think you have shared more than any one should expect. Thank you for all you have shard, it has been faith building and testimony strengthening for each one of us. My testimony of the power of prayer (and faith) has grown immensely as I have heard from you of these prayers being answered. Stephanie and Christians story is incredible. It is beautiful. Throughout this I have fallen in love with your blog, no matter what you write about. It is always uplifting and no matter what you continue to share, I am forever a CJane loyal reader. Thanks for letting us in.
Courtney
I am not even sure how to put everything into words. All I can say is you are doing a remarkable job. Stephanie and her family are truly inspirational (even to this Jewish chick from Connecticut). Please keep on writing. And when Stephanie awakens (and I know she will), she can feel heartened to know that her medically induced slumber has jolted me awake and inspired this non-cooking, anti-homemaking mom, who made snarky comments to her husband, realize the value in keeping it real in the home. Stay strong! our love and prayers are with you all! - Amy G. from Connecticut
I just want to say that I had a really bad day and I came onto your blog for a cheer me up. You have such a way of looking at life that I knew I could get the inspitation I needed to finish off the day. You are a true inspiration to me. Thank you for the updates, you are all in our nightly prayers. Give those kids a few extra hugs from a grateful mother in Minnesota.
Thank you for what you are doing. I think about Stephanie daily. Sometimes I wonder if it's weird that someone I don't even know, has had such a powerful effect on my life.
I know she has touched so many people. I think if I could have 1/4of that, I would be happy. She is amazing, you all are.
Thanks
I've been following Stephanie's blog and love her attitude towards life, her love for Christian and her devotion to her family has truly inspired me to be a better person, wife and mother. Its really heartbreaking to see such a righteous couple having to go through such pain. We will continue to pray for NieNie and Mr Nielson all the way from Singapore! Hope that they will make a steady and miraculous recovery. Thanks C Jane for updating us all on their condition. You are an amazing lady too your love as a sister and aunt has earn my respect. Hang in there!
Thank you for the update. I cannot imagine. We sent them a card made by my 4 year old. I hope to hear that one day Stephanie and Christian are looking at each other again.
Thank you for the update. Hang in there, your faith will carry you. Prayers from SC.
Please know that I will continue to pray for your precious family...all of you! Thank you for sharing this journey and allowing us to take part. May the Lord continue to give you peace & patience...thoughts & prayers from Georgia.
Thanks for sharing their progress. Lot's of prayers coming your way! Your family is amazing!
I've been lurking on Stephanie's site since the accident - and yours too. I've been captivated by her ability to interact with her kids so creatively and beautifully. And the love that Christian and Steph feel for each other radiates out of every single photo. Her entire story is so beautiful and what marriage is supposed to be. My heart has been aching for the entire family, and I have been praying steadily. Please let them know that there is a person in Colorado who admires what they have built together - and prays everyday for them to continue to be blessed.
Thank you so much for your updates on Stephanie and Christian. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers each day. I admire your strength and faith. My sister is my dearest friend, and I can not imagine how deeply you must be drawing on your faith to be move through each day. Our family is praying for your family.

Since beginning to read both Stephanie's and your blogs shortly after the crash, there have been many moments when I find myself suppressing tears while riding the subway, walking down the street, or at work when I think of what you have all been going through and the sheer strength that's propelling you all forward. But just as often, I am brought nearly to tears by the thought that the brilliant, creative mind and heart that Stephanie carries are still out there, alive, fighting back and filled with passion and love for her life, color, beauty, and of course her family... I like to take comfort in that. I also like to imagine that she's somehow using this time to daydream about beautiful, creative little ideas somewhere in the recesses of her mind to keep herself positive, and that some day she'll be able to share them with us all. -- Sara, Brooklyn
What a testament to dignity and respect within your famiy. It is a beautiful show of a family's love. You encourage all of us to meet challenges with grace. PRAYING!. . . a mighty, mighty statemnt.
I often wonder if I should leave a comment or not-you get so many of them, and I wonder how you get through them. I am happy to read that you find them all helpful though, so perhaps I'll comment more often. I will continue praying for your sweet family.
Thank you for the update... for every update. While painful, the news is all encouraging. I have faith in Christian and Stephanie and I owe them such a debt of gratitude for the way they have changed my life these past weeks. The way I think, react and spend my time is forever changed by the inspiring story of these two heroes. Thank you for staying strong and know that you, Christian, Stephanie, the kids and all of your family are in my prayers.
My prayers are with everyone. My Stepmom Kim is Stephanie's cousin and many prayers are going your way.
God bless you from our faithful Catholic family. I believe all faiths should be praying.
Love The Jacksons
I've thought about Christian and the tough emotional toll this will take on him.
Thank you for telling us more specifically what to pray for.
It does good.
We are all praying for our dear friends who we have never met. Thanks for the updates... and inspiration!
our prayers are with your whole family. Heavenly Father is midful of you all, I know this.
I have been reading C Jane and Nie Nie since the accident. My prayers for you and your family have been constant and I will keep them coming from Colorado. What I love best about these blogs is that even in this time of heartache I see laughter, happy children, warm loving memories, and pure faith. You are an inspiration to so many.
i don't know stephanie, christian or any of your family, but i have read your updates everyday since the accident. i read about it on kelly mccaleb's blog who was a friend of your sister's in utah. i'm praying for your family. thank you for sharing your lives with me.
Thinking of you often and wishing you much strength. I hope you can find a 'joy' in each day. Praying for your entire family from here in Perth, Australia.
