It's Beginning to Look Alot Like Christmas At Retro House

Christmas came early for our photog Chup. He was gifted some needed camera equipment. We spent the weekend playing with our new stuff. May I just say what a difference a good flash makes?

great pics!!

Well, he is a lucky duck. I personally could use a good flash, but I had a terribly weak moment at Antropologie (they are have a HUGE sale) and it seems my Christmas can now be found wrapped in one of their big white bags.

As always, that picture of The Chief is too cute for words. My gracious he is precious!

Aprilyn said...

Those are great pictures! I agree that The Chief is absolutely DARLING.

Laura said...

The Chief has the cutest cheeks ever! Merry Christmas to the whole family!

I LOVE that nativity! Where did you get it? And I think my little monkey is cuter than the Chief, but I could be biased. ;)

Micah C said...

First of all cute pics. Second - where did Claire get her jeans!!

Krizzle said...

great pictures so far! there is nothing like a new flash to inspire some great new photos! You should do a dress up photoshoot with the kids......superhereos, princesses, etc. Make them look like real portraits and such. Just an idea!

Tori said...

Great pictures! And I must agree, the Chief is a cutie!

So Jealous of your sushi! We make our own here on the farm in Kansas-we are getting close to mastery but not THAT CLOSE! Got my Nie t-shirt yesterday-LOVE IT!

I'm jealous that you made sushi so well with the rice on the OUTSIDE. I have a kit and I can only make it work if the nori is on the outside.

Merry Christmas to you all.

Courtney,

Just wanted to say that you look absolutely STUNNING in that 4th photo!

Have a great holiday,

I know you know this but the Chief is just beautiful.

We ALL need the 411 on the nativity. I need something hands on around and fast.

I love the vitawater in the snow. I love them all... great flash

Likely said...

what I meant to say is that you are really good at flashing.

Leslie Jam said...

Love the window picture especially.

I hope that you are enjoying the blessings of this amazing season.

Dianne said...

Please give us another Nie update before Christmas. Bless you as you carry on dear one!

Carrot Jello said...

I'm not just saying this because I want a free book or anything, because I can download it for $5.00or purchase it for a mere $19.95, but your baby is darling.
Darling, I say.
And I have 5 of my own.

Geo said...

Nice shooting, Chup. And you sure know how to pick a wife.

karengberger said...

LOVE the playmobil nativity scene; we have one, too. Aren't those the BEST toys, ever? Except the Chief might want to eat the small pieces for a couple of years...
God bless all of you!

Eudea-Mamia said...

Oh, I love the PlayMobile Nativity!! We have the Fisher Price version, but that one is way cuter!!

Playmobil: an example of GOOD plastic toys that couldn't be matched by wood or metal. I love that knight (if that's what he is) guarding the creche on the right.

lundgrenville said...

Love the pictures.....especially the early missletoe shot. ;)

Mama Llama said...

Guuuuuurrrrllll!

You can't say it's a good flash and NOT tell us what kind! (I'm hoping for a new flash for Christmas, too...)

Is it this one?

That's the one I'm wishing for.

The Cheif is adorable and I have to say Courtney you are looking great too. Keep up the good work.

Patti said...

Know what? I saw a little of Gigs in that picture of the Chief. I did a double take...

Merry Merry Christmas. You are loved.

ellen said...

The Chief is ADORABLE!

Jeannie said...

they are terrific pictures. what kind of equipment does the photog have? i'd like to know as i'm starting to think about acquiring some (after i get my iphone for christmas!) (oh, and after i earn some money).

it seems i didn't see all the pictures. others are referring to some pictures that i didn't see.

however, i did see your precious baby (what a great photo) and your kitchen table pic. i love those. did you make that table top mosaic? kissing your hubby; really cute.

Reenie said...

hmmm I'm not seeing all the pics either.

Love the one of the Chief.

Trina said...

Totally not fair that your Playmobile Nativity is still so orderly. After the 5th time putting ours bacck together (the FIRST day it was out), my 11-year-old gave up tyring to keep order. Now all the wise men are taking naps and the animals were all kidnapped (er, animal-napped) to an undisclosed 2-yr-old "safe house." (Did I mention I have 4 boys? . . .)

The merriest of Christmases to you all.

Kait said...

Your baby is delicious. I now understand your cannibalistic tendencies towards him.

LaMaman said...

O.k. I agree your Playmobil nativity scene is way too orderly. Maybe it is just a set up for a shot? I too wrote about our nativity scene from Playmobil which is still joy & a toy to my 10 & 13 yr old children. See my blog:

Have a Merry Christmas.

What beautiful pictures! I'm pretty sure 'Santa' is bringing me a new camera for Christmas...since he broke my old one :).

Merry Christmas!!! Of all the people I know, you and your sweet family deserve a Merry Christmas the very most :).

Salmon Tolman Fam said...

Wow, what a difference new camera stuff makes! The pictures are colorful, beautiful, and simple!
Do you guys make and eat sushi? EWWW.
That lego set of the nativity is one of my favorites. I am the ward activities person, and at our last party "In a Manger", I had several people bring in their nativity sets to display. I loved the lego one; I had never seen it before, and now I've seen it twice in 2 weeks!
Is that how you guys cool your drinks? I loved the colors of the various drink flavors against the white snow.
Seriously, you guys are brilliant! I am so glad to see some of Chup's new work!!! Merry Christmas!

Now it looks like there are more people wanting to eat your baby than just you...you might need to get security. Have a great Christmas and send us more picts!

How fun!
Merry Christmas Retro House!

coty said...

agreed. o the wonder of a flash.

jenfarmgirl said...

Oh...you might want to write a new book titled "How to serve the Chief". It could include things like recipes (starring him as the main dish) and how to do his laundry, amoung other things! I'm extra silly today because I'm home with my 5 girls! (And now I know I'm definately not the only one with 5 girls.)

Candice said...

Love the new photos from the retro house. Chup must be a happy boy with his new toy!

By the way, did Courtney get a chic new hairdo? Very pretty!

Merry Christmas!

Oh, look at that sweet little baby's face! It's strange, while your family travels through a journey most of us couldn't imagine, we see you all as being so very, very blessed -- even the more for it.

I hope you and yours had a beautiful, loving holiday (it looks like you did), and continue to receive such blessings throughout the coming year.
