In exactly one week I will be in my seat for the Mindy Gledhill/Thrillionares benefit concert. In fact, my whole family will be there because, after all, it is Monday night and therefore Family Home Evening. And also, because our sister-in-law Lisa is a player with the Thrillionares. Oh, and a couple of us donated to the silent auction--we'd like to see if our stuff goes for much. Then there is a part that the proceeds will go to help our sister recover. But mostly because we could use a night of enjoyment. All of us.

And that is what this night is going to be.

Will I see you there?

Love for Nie Nie Benefit Concert and Silent Auction
Mindy Gledhill with The Thrillionaires
Monday, Feb., 2nd, 7:00 p.m.
The Covey Center for the Arts, Provo, UT
Buy tickets at www.coveycenter.org or call 852-7007
Discounts available for students, seniors and groups of 6 or more

Silent Auction Info:

Auction has started at www.formerlyphread.blogspot.com
Online bidding ends Feb. 2nd at 3:00 p.m.
The ending bids will be the starting bids for all of these items at the live auction which begins at 6:15 p.m. in the Covey Center lobby and ends after the concert.

Confusing? It is explained well at www.formerlyphread.blogspot.com. Some highlights from the auction include two packages to see the Jazz on the second row, including dinner and parking, valued at $950 each. There's also, a basket full of makeup by MAC valued at $600.00, and a private, acoustic concert with Mindy (I want that I want that I want that--nothing better--don't outbid me).

It sounds like so much fun! I wish I could be there! You'll have to let all of us who aren't close enough to attend know how it goes.

Oh my gosh, the article in the Arizona Republic this morning about Stephanie and Christian was sooo moving.
Jaimee Rose once again gave us a snapshot into Stephanie's new life... recovering from her 4 months asleep... the pain of facing months of rehab... her hope in mothering her four children.

Jeremiah 29:11- "For I know the plans I have for you Stephanie", declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
That is my prayer for you Stephanie.

Bummer that I live so far away because this would really be fun. :-(

Linda T, can we have a link for that article? I could only find old ones.

They should have it up soon. Don't know why it is not on the site when it comes out in the paper.
But keep trying.

I think this is the link to the Arizona Republic article: http://www.azcentral.com/arizonarepublic/arizonaliving/articles/2009/01/26/20090126Stephanie0126.html

The link doesn't seem to have posted correctly in my comment. I found the article by going to azcentral.com/arizonarepublic, then clicking on "Arizona Living" in the bar at the top. The article is the first listed under Arizona Living, "Burn Survivor on an Uphill Journey of Healing".

I could not figure out how to leave Nie a post on her blog. I just wanted to let her know I continue to send my prayers. Her family and yours are a true inspiration. It is a joy to read your story. I also wanted to know where she got that adorable sweatshirt in her last post?

A friend sent me this link and it was so sweet it made me cry. I thought of you and your sister and I thought you would enjoy it. I did not see an email for you so I am going to post the link here. I have left several comments and check in with you and your dear family often. Hope this finds you as tender as it did me.

I wish I were going to be there but there is an age limit so we will not be going as a family. (Plus we can't afford tickets.) If I can possibly make it by myself, I've been told I can listen from backstage because I helped get donations for the silent auction. I would like to meet you again but oh well...

If I didn't live 600 miles (literally) away, I would SO be there!

i gotta tell ya, you have the best header ever. i love it. i want one.
i have been reading your blog for a while, i found it when i came across nienie dialogues, shortly after the crash, and wanted to know more. your family has been in my prayers for a long time, and it is good to know everyone is getting better, and no one has really lost it yet with the stress of your life being thrown upside down. or so it seems, i know as well as any that when you blog, you blog what you want, cause its all about you.
anyways, i'm delurking my self. your fantastic header deserves it. you're doing good things for your sister and all the rest of your family, and i am praying for all of you.

I just sang "Keeper of the Faith" last night at New Beginnings and I did NOT sound like Mindy. Oh well, it was good for my humility. I have been lurking on your blog for some time now and want to say thanks for sharing, especially those parts that make me giggle. Giggling is good. In reading, I have discovered that we have several things in common:
-wonderful sisters (I have two)
-crazy missions (Thailand, Bangkok)
-complimented and/or insulted regularly by 6th graders
-rough first marriage
-one precious son
Things we do not have in common:
-freckles (Does the 10th commandment say anything about freckles?)
-being able to pronounce Enjolras (my dream guy)
-multiple trips to Europe (oooh that 10th commandment!)
-"Happily Ever After" 2nd marriage (but here's hopin')
Anyway...thanks for being my one-way friend! I wish you and yours all the best. AND I wish I could be at Mindy's concert. Have fun!

Wanted to tell Nie that she doesn't need to put on a happy face for us. We know that there are ups and downs in life, and especially after tragedies. She is human, and that is why people love her. With all of the struggles that she must be going through, we are all routing for her, and want her to keep it real, and honest for herself, as well as for us. Even if that means being not-so-nieish.

I wish so badly I could attend...if only I could teleport myself from Oregon to Utah...hopefully I can help raise some money for your dear sister with the INSPIRATION Ring.

Warm Regards~

Love your dotty top C Jane.

I hope you have a wonderful evening -having showered- LOL and you turn up on the right day. :-) Don't worry when life is hectic who cares what day you're on as long as you remember when the weekend is and you aren't packing the children off to school on Saturday. :-)

Have a great evening. I hope lots of funds are raised too.

Hey C Jane! I'm an OT who follows you and your sister's blog and think and pray for you all daily! I didn't know if any therapists had talked to her about Dragon Naturally Speaking software...it would allow her to dictate her blogs via speaking. It's a super awesome program, perfect for all the delicious stuff she would love to do on the web AND the computer! You can google it and find it.

Just wanted to spread the word and try to lend a helping hand.

Blessings!
