I can't believe today is January 16th. Is Nie nervous about her re-entry? You don't need to answer that, I'm sure she feels about a million feelings at once. Looking forward to hearing from her when and how she can!

Adorable!

I just read Nei's post and am filled with emotions. They way you have all handled yourself with courage, grace, dignity, well it simply warms my soul. To have siblings who'd go to the end of the earth for each other, well it is almost like watching magic, a miracle of sorts. What's your mum's secret to raising children who care so much?

Nie's post brought such emotion and such joy. I am just so happy she is back. Personally I got out the pinata :0)

Cammi said...

hurray! nie is back :) she is such a wonderful inspiration to everyone. May she heal and continue to feel our prayers.

2. What a cute picture; I didn't even recognize your baby til I read the comments.

3. I just have to comment here about New Nie's post b/c her comments aren't on (sorry!).: New Nie: You rock! What an attitude. We don't need to say how absolutely thrilled we are to have you back!! Much love to you, New Nie, and to you CJane, as always.

Sharmilla said...

Scrumptious babies... but what I really wanted to say is this:

I was so excited all week for this day to arrive. I don't think I've been so eager to get out of bed in a long time. (A 16 month and 3 month old have lessened my enthusiasm for mornings... I'm sure you understand.)

Nie's back! And it was worth the wait.

That photo is the most romantic image I've seen in a long time.

You and your sister have become part of my daily life. Friends, who just don't know me.

Thanks to you both, and all the prayers I can muster for continued healing, blogging and inspired living.

Bek said...

Ok, I didn't realize till right now how much the Chief and Margaret look like each other... do you have hidden Valentine genes somewhere??? They are the cutest!

Cjane, Awesome art...so, Andy Warholish of you... I LOVE it. I have been lurking for almost a year & I've never commented. But today... well, I just have to say:
1. I know sisterhood, I am a big sister of a fabulous girl, and I am bearing in my heart your example for the rest of my life!
2. The wings are hot!!
3. Staying "Spicy" in all things, motherhood, work, ministry... is going to be my life's work. Thanks for the inpiration!
4. Sometimes I let fear take over, especially when it comes to seeking the approval of others. Well, if you and Nie have taught me anything over this past year...it is I HAVE NOTHING TO FEAR! If you can take down Autoblog and weather the wrath of the internet world and Nie can survive a plane crash & a burned body and can re-emerge embracing her new identity... well, holy cow, I can have courage too!!

Cjane - you have, single handedly changed my perspective on life, love & the grace we have pouring down on us from heaven.

Thank you, thank you, thank you...

Technically, this is off topic, but since there are so many ladies visiting here today, I pose a question...
Does anyone know where one might find knee-length(ish) a-line(ish) skirts such as the type cjane wears?
Nowhere can I find a skirt that covers everything and does not restrict me and make me walk like a penguin.
Any advice would be much appreciated!
Thank you cjane supporters and yay for nie!

PS. I'm in Denver, CO if that helps at all.

Comments on the commentators:

To Questioning: Nie is pronounced like knee (NieNie is a play on her name: StephaNIE NIElson)

To Topher: You made me laugh! Courtney's son as gossiper? Nah. It could be he is responding to his cousin's comments that weren't captured on film! LOL

I wanna be a Clark!

word verification: fogiese (as in Old fogies? I'm sure I should be offended somehow).

And finally, WELCOME BACK NIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (and I meant every one of those !)

PS. Courtney- YOU ROCK!

Cheryl said...

Is that the Chief with cousin Margaret? So cute. Topher's daughter doesn't appear to be shunning the gossip either, she IS listening intently... in my view anyway.

I love the fact that I have two people to read regularly now. Tell Nie 'Welcome back'!!!!

You always have the answers.
I never would have thought that what the world really needs is more babies sharing hot gossip.
YOU are a genius my friend.
I'm going to go and think of more things the world needs.
Maybe together, we can fix the economy.

What the world needs is...is...cats...and dogs...that get along.
Okay, not as good as yours, but I just started.
You just wait.
There's more.

I'm starting to feel like your Ed McMahon.
Maybe we could work up some deal.
I come and comment, introduce you or whatever, and you pay me.
Now THAT'S genius.

What the world needs now is cjane with a sidekick.

Courtney,
I started to follow your blog and Nie's blog when I heard about it on NBC. I have been mesmarised ever since. It is remarkable to see the support and encouragement that you have gotten. It is heart-warming to see the outpouring of love that you have gotten and that Nie has gotten through the tragedy that you all have trudged through. I am inspired, and I want to offer my support to other parents of children with disabilities. I just don't know how to do it.

I am new to this whole "blog" world. I have started to write about my experiences as a mom to a child with a disability, and I have no idea of how to reach other parents of children with disabilities. I want to share my story and to support other parents who may have support issues...any suggestions?

Patty said...

I bet little Cheif has a lot to say and he sure is whispering it to a pretty girl. Adorable! I bet you guys are so proud of Stephanie. I lost my leg first below the knee and then above 5 years ago. I also have a rare muscle condition so I am in a wheelchair. I thank God my children were grown. I went from being a working wife and mom to sitting in a wheelchair. Life can will change at a moments notice. I think I came out a better person for it. I was such a vain person. Anyway I know Newnie will find a way to embrace the new her and bloom where she is planted. You are such a sweet sister. God Bless, Patty

Courtney, amazing Courtney. BC I did not know you. Now I love you. Being a 'loner' kind of person this is a great relationship for me. I can just participate in your life, antics and heartfelt tender moments...AND...I never have to clean my house 'cause you're coming to visit (and YOU don't have to clean yours...good, eh?) You have been a loving and skilled blogger juggling all the emotions, chatter and events of the last five months. I thank you for showing us your world and for embracing us in it. Classy lady, without a doubt!

Stephanie. OMG. I have been such a voyeur in your life for the last five months that I am embarassed to 'meet' you. I have prayed for you so intently--my heart gushing an emotion I cannot even name...never felt it before. We've been allowed to peak at you through sanctioned peepholes while you were so vulnerable. Glimpses of love, strength and miracles. We talked to God like never before. We became obsessed...(well, okay, maybe it was just ME who was obsessed)...with your recovery and well being. And now here you are, back amongst the bloggers. My stomach is all jittery just thinking about the fact that your own words are back on the pages of NieNie. Whoa! and just so ya know, the last few months your words were so well taken care of by Courtney. And I know that your other siblings (who shun the spotlight) have contributed mightily to your recovery. I love every one of you. Welcome back, Miss Stephanie.

Courtney, here is my soap box (sliding out of the way).

You may now have your blog back. :)

Does The Chief "kiss" you by licking your whole face? My 9 month old has 6 teeth - yes, I said 6 - and his sweet open mouthed kisses are now bites - but love bites - oh so sweet.

Second. I am overjoyed at Nie's return. I want nothing but to comment on her blog - alas - it is not to be done - but I wanted to express my joy. If I feel this joy, what YOU and YOUR FAMILY must feel.... PRAISE THE LORD!

C-love,
Thank you for being yourself, for being such a great sister, for this blog, for making me laugh, for just being!!!

I bow my head in your presence Stephanie. There are no words. I was anticipating your return all week and I am just overcome with emotion reading your thoughts, your update.
I can only leave you this poem by Virgina Ellis-

How does one measure a miracle?
What kind of gauge does one use?
Should miracles be stupendous and grand,
Breathtaking, enormous, and huge?

Must the colors be vivid and shockingly bright?
What volume of sound should one hear?
Are miracles crafted of pure solid gold,
Or fashioned of jewels so dear?

How will I know if I've seen one?
Will there be angels flying around?
Will the sun be brilliantly shining?
Will I see stars and a moon beaming down?

Where do I look for my miracle?
How will I know one is near?
Then the simple answer came to me,
Dear child, just look in a mirror.

But even that does not seem enough to describe what it feels like... to read your words. I just know I am witness to a miracle. Thank you for coming back!

I will forever pray for you, for Mr. Nielson, C-love and everyone involved in your life. You and Courtney are truly amazing beings.

In faith,
Djuna

Courtney,
I don't expect (or necessarily want you to) post this comment... I just couldn't figure out how to email you. I have been reading about your family for a long time now and never responded before. I know that your blog has a lot of "power" and was wondering if you would be able to make a post about this: http://blog.imperfectparent.com/2009/01/11/amazon-feeding-our-children-to-the-lions/

It seems that Amazon is selling pro-pedophilia literature. I am appalled and horribly stunned. There is a petition to try and get Amazon to stop selling these books. I know that you probably don't want to get preachy in your blog but I also know how much you love your son (and all children in general). I have signed the petition and have sent emails out to all of my loved ones as well. I just just hoping that maybe you could say a little something about this in one of your blogs and help it get the attention that it needs.

Hope all is well and look forward to some spicy posts:)
Thanks,
Michele Ondra

Sorry if this plea bothers you. I am not trying to annoy you or get you upset about anything. I am just hoping to put a stop to Amazon (whom I actually used to buy a lot from) selling these types of books. Money for the company shouldn't be worth selling such items. ya know??

Dear CJane,

Please pass this message along to NieNie, since her blog doesn’t allow comments yet! My name is Susan Rajotte and I live in MA. I became aware of your story from a co-worker and visited your blog, and I was amazed and thankful that the Lord has given you so many blessing even at this trying time in your life, as you have said, this is the AC (after crash) time of your life.

I am an RN and I am blessed to work for a company in Newton Center, Massachusetts called NormaTec. We make a pneumatic compression device that I feel will help both you and Mr. Nielson not only recover faster, but aid in the healing process. Please contact me. I really want to help.
