I told my facebook friends I'd post a photo of the pumpkin my brother Andrew made me. It's polka dotted, see?

I like how it glows.
I'd thank him here, but he says my blog has too many words. (Meg, will you thank him for me?)
In celebration for Halloween, I am going to recount a very spooky, true-life story Chup and I recently experienced. Check back tomorrow evening when I post it for all the world to read.
That is, if you dare . . .

30 Pieces of Opinion:
How cute!
I love this modern twist on a traditional theme!
Might have to have a try for ourselves!
cutest pumpkin ever. :)
(dont leave it to rot, I did that once and the shock of lifting a seemingly perfect and whole pumpkin, and then experiencing it evaporate (almost) in front of you, left me scarred. It was leeking a dark green fluid and revealing an inner mudpie, with hair.
yes, hair. :/
they all look so quaint! i am carving pumpkins later on today, hoping that theyre as good as andrews!
Tell him writers use lots of words, that's just what you do. :)
I want one! LoVE it!
I love it!!! What a cool idea.
You know of course, with this post, I am going to keep checking back to hear your story.
cute! did he manage that with a knife or do it with a drill? So cute and modern!
Do you know how he created each adorable polka dot?
SUCH a cute pumpkin!! I love the non traditional ones the best :) I found our blog through Nie Nie's and I'm loving it so much, I heart all your vintage clothes, your posts are totally hilarious and mostly I'm just glad I stumbled across it because I really enjoy it!!
Oh, and The Chief is pretty easy on the eyes as well ;)
I think I'm gonna have to copy that pumpkin this year! So darn cute!
I love it! I saw Martha Stewart do this once with a drill. Your clever brother probably doesn't watch Martha...I am sure he figured it out on his own! it's fun like a festive lantern!
Your blog does not have too many words. Amen.
Oooh, I like those pumpkins. Such a classy Halloween display.
I'll be waiting anxiously to hear your scary story.
I sent you a dress recently. I think it went to your sisters by accident, did you recieve it? Do you like it? Does it fit well?I forgot to tell you it works great with a turtleneck under. :) wanted to make sure... Thanks!
Kirsten
I am sitting on the edge of my seat...
Best non-scary pumpkin ever!
I made one like that last year. It's kind of fun taking power tools to a defenseless gourd :)
How is it I feel you have too few words then! LOL!
You are fresh for keeping us in suspense, I'll be dreaming of you now tonight because I'll be wondering all day today. Thanks a bunch for that!
hmmmm... my verification word is clambeli...is that what you call the bump in early pregnancy? I love making up definitions for the verification words LOL!!!
Fan-freaking-tastic!

Very very cute. As a polka dot queen I love the pumpkin. I may have to copy (if it's OK with you?)
Can't wait to read your scary story.
Blessings, Mari
I'm not normally a fan of carved pumpkins, but that one is really cool. :)
P.S. I think most boys think blogs have too many words. But that's just my experience.
I know this is not nie nie's comment site...but she isn't accepting comments and I just had to comment on her post today.
We had a really rough time with our kids the past two days. My husband and I just spent an hour talking about how things had gone and how we'd handle things in the future.
Mr. Nielsen's response to his girls was one of the funniest things I've ever read. I had to get up, go find my husband and relay the story to him. He was equally amused.
Thanks to both of you for sharing your lives with us.
Can't wait to hear your story! Cute pumpkin. We were inspired to do the haunted mansion from Martha's Halloween magazine this year. I'm a bit over-the-top about pumpkin carving.
My Zoe loves polka dots. I will suggest it to her.
What a clever idea! Who would have thought to make a polkadot pumpkin? So simple, but brilliant! I am loving this modern piece of pumpkin art!!
i love polka dots. they are especially lovely on pumpkins!
That pumpkin is too cute!!
Dear CJane,
I desperately wanted to copy your pumpkin this year.
Somehow I managed to restrain from doing so (I'm a big fan of originality).
Laura
