Basa Body Baby--Clarification!

Sometime ago I threw out all my body lotion. Nothing was working for me and I was tired of trying to smell like something juiced up in a chemical production warehouse. I went to my nearest health foods store and bought myself a large jar of %100 coconut oil. White, slick with the natural smell of Polynesia. It was a dream come true for me, my skin glistened,
as I listened,
to compliments pouring in.
Not that I do things for straight up compliments but who doesn't?

It was also worry free, when The Chief inevitably discovered the jar and started to swallow the contents I knew it was perfectly safe--if not healthy--for his palm-full of coconut oil to slide down his digestive track.

Last week my Aunt Liz stopped by with a new solution called Basa Body. It is a product of the women of Kenya and coconut trees. Together, they make products rich in coconut oil. I was given a package of treats including Basa Body lotion, Basa Body stick and some truffle soaps. I am not usually a passionista of bathing products (mostly because I prefer cw's homemade soaps to just about anything) but I had a testimony of coconut oil. I knew my body would love this stuff.

As a side note, my Aunt Liz is one of my idols and whatever she does, I do unquestionably. She's one of those maverick women who'd you find in dusty saloons in an old western. Beautiful, strong, soft and clever. And some more beautiful, brave and raised a pack of five boys while keeping up her blond. I wish I had a photograph.

I really believe in Basa Body. The lotion has a creamy consistency which layers on my skin with a quick dissolve. I took the stick on my trip to NYC and used it as a facial moisturizer--the stick is compact for travel but powerful as a full day moisturizer. On Sunday I let The Chief wash up with one of the truffle soaps and rested easily when he started to eat the fine smelling bar. No chemicals, all natural treat in the tub. Just ask The Chief who eats anything with form and function (which doesn't exactly explain his obsession with Pirate's Booty). As a statement I say: I whole-heartedly blog about Basa Body today.

Basa Body was created to help
the mothers of Kenya be successful at providing for their children. The project was stimulated by my other amazing family, The Popes who are genuinely the most generous (and quirky) people around. Today, I join with my cousin Jayne and sister Stephanie in making the world more aware of Basa Body--its spirit and soul.

If you'd like to learn more about Basa Body go here.
If you'd like to buy Basa Body for everyone on you Christmas list (what? Great idea! They are nicely priced) go here.
If you'd like to read Jayne's testimonial go here, for Stephanie's go here.

Post-edit:

After some emails and comments, I feel I need to clarify that Basa is a family project that we are helping spread the word about today. I was given the product for free, but I will receive no other compensation for my blog post. Honestly, I love the product and I am happy to share the word. That is all.

Ooh, nice. I love me some coconut oil and this dry Utah weather always does a number on my skin. I think Santa will have to bring some for my stocking :)

I'm sad.
Today I read your and your sister's blog back to back, and I'm bombarded with incredibly annoying advertising. It seems to be getting worse by the day;and I'm a person who dvr's everything to avoid commercials (which are just forms of "hidden" brainwashing/propaganda).
I understand you need to pay the bills, but why not start another blog to do the advertising while keepin' in real here, where you speak of things so sacred as your body, your children, your marriage, your beliefs? I have truly enjoyed your writing as well as your sister's, but it is so diluted now and the enjoyment and message is lost. Gone.
You lost me.
I wish you well.

Winter and I have a love/hate relaionship. I love the season but the weather hate my skin and sucks out any moisture leaving my with scratchy driness that I HATE!

c jane said...

2 Kids, thanks for your honesty. I do have a blog just for stuff like this, it is dear cjane I did that a couple months ago so I could leave my personal blog open for just me and my thoughts. Just like you suggested

That being said, Basa Body is an idea started by my family with the intent to help mothers all over the world. I felt that it deserved a post on my personal blog, because it is a personal matter. I wouldn't put it on this blog if I didn't think it deserved it.

Sometimes blogging is about personal thoughts and sometimes it is about personal things. Books and lotion to name two, I guess.

Thanks again for your thoughts I totally appreciate what you are saying, and I think we're on the same page.

What kind of skin have you that it doesn't make you greasy? I'm in an environment even desertier than Utah Valley and my skin is screing for aid. Yet I am not willing to render the aid at my visual expense.

Sparks said...

Screaming for aid. Not screing or screwing.

i just purchased the gift set for myself...a treat for me! thanks for the suggestion...because i truly have dry skin. by the way...i still love your blog! you are awesome!

Sparks said...

Oh, and Martinis--if you were a regular reader you'd know that Siege has a product blog and for her to blog about a product on this blog means that it's something especially important or influential

Sorry if that was rude, Mme. Jane. Please delete if you're bothered.

Okay, leaving now.

Sort of, for I have to say that I am on a plane right now and commenting using their WiFi. Gosh I love this.

You're Funny Hunny said...

I am wondering if 2 kids 3 martinis was referring to the pop up adds on your site (google ads) not this blog post in particular? There is a scrolling ad (asking you to take a survey) when you come here that can get kind of annoying.

Sara D. said...

Thanks for the tip - I just placed my order! I currently use cocounut oil, too...but my hands need extra help right now. Thanks again!

You're Funny Hunny said...

And before I get attacked for being mean (I can feel it coming), I do have pop up blocker (the scrolling ad shows up anyway) and I do realize I don't have to read this blog if it bothers me.

Not trying to offend.

coconut oil is very healthy to eat!! i mix some in with my 10 mo. old baby's food now and then. it has mcfa, very healthy fatty acids.

Bert Bell said...

I have to agree with Your Funny Hunny in the respect to 2 Kid's remark. I believe as well it is the adds on the side bar, it your mouse strays you get a big box that either runs a commercial or takes you to another page for the company advertising.

As for Cjane's blog today...we can all use a good moisturizer/body lotion. Thanks for the heads up Cjane....will check it out. I have to use lotion alot during the winter months as I get so dried out. Hugs & many blessings

Nan said...

I may be partial, but basa body is the best! I use the stick straight on my face, and nothing else. Plus, it is incredibly social responsible product.
ps delete 2 kids comment, she doesn't know what the crap she's talking about.

Jennie said...

Whoa - your blog just turned into a commercial.

Mel said...

Is the story behind these products on the bottle? These would make great teacher gifts but I would like them to know what the purchase supports.

Bert Bell said...

I have to agree with You're Funny Hunny...I think 2 kids was referring to the ads on the side bar. Sometimes if your mouse wanders it pops open an advertisement box and it can be a bit distracting.

I will definately check out Basa Body Lotion. I can always use a good tip for my dry skin! I like winter time because it is pretty with the snow, but the cold surely dries me out! Thanks for the tip Cjane

2kids has a good point. It did feel salesy. I don't like to feel greasy. Just regular vaseline intensive works great for us. DD

SWEET! lotion that is helping support other women, and is chemical free???? count me in!

TRS said...

I would agree that advertising on some blogs is annoying - but in this case - you're showing us something we can use, give as gifts and support other less-fortunate women. not bothered at all.

The only annoyance I have is that I can't stand the smell of coconut - and I'm really wishing there was another flavor so that i could support this great project!!! (Mango maybe? What else do they have there to squeeze juice and oil out of?!! ) ha ha

Noni said...

Thanks for letting us know about terrific, healthy body care. I love that it helps women in Kenya. I have used olive oil as an all over body lotion for years--never greasy, just absorbs immediately--coconut oil would be the same. I don't feel like you are advertising, just sharing what matters to you!

Love you,

Noni

Morgan Lee said...

I think the issue with this post is that it reads like ad copy. I don't have a problem with reading a post that promotes a product that supports a worthy cause... but it would be more palatable if the worthy cause was the focus of the post, rather than advertising cliches... which just sound awkward and forced coming from Cjane. That's all.

Patti said...

I will try Basa, CJANE, because you said I should. You, after all, sent me to the Provo Bakery for the best sugar cookie in the world. And I live in Las Vegas...

Thank you.

Also, I wish I had your thick skin. For real.

Love your blogs. Been a fan for years.

Will there be Christmas singing this year?

TM said...

I love this blog and nies but honestly...... occasionally, .......not often, ..........some posts do seem like commercials or pricey items talk that many Americans can never afford, especially in this horrible economy.

I must say over all though, I LOVE these blogs and usually leave feeling inspired or uplifted.

I just don't care for the really high priced things talked about or the commercial sounding posts, like todays.
Really though, it's your blog and you can post anything you feel.

Just sharing my 2 cents :)

c jane said...

Thanks TM, I was wondering if you could give me another instance on this blog where I have advertised something pricey? I really try to keep this blog free of anything but my thoughts, perhaps you can help me be more conscious.

My sister on the other hand, is making a living from blogging and I think it is different in her case.

c jane said...

and also, honestly, the lotion is not expensive. I mean, 12 dollars for a good natural product is pretty cheap.

Corn sakes Courtney, I cannot tell you how many times I've tried to leave a comment on your other blog, and it will not accept it.
Oh the baby names I came up with!
You missed out my friend.
I didn't even want a dress.
I just wanted to name the baby.
I left like 10 comments.
None made it through.
I feel censored.
Unless you are just keeping my comments to yourself, and storing them in your book of remembrance so your children can read them later.
In which case, I'm flattered.

I so admire how incredibly gracious you are to those who offer opinions contrary to yours! I say, "A DAY WITHOUT CJANE IS LIKE A DAY WITHOUT SUNSHINE." So please keep on blogging on any and all topics.

CJ, I think my comment was blurring you and Nie blog all into one.
I think people have enjoyed these blogs so much that I hate to see them go in any other direction.
That's all :)

CG said...

And people wonder why sometimes cjane turns off comments.

This. This is why.

Why would you voluntarily deal with this kind of backhanding?

I may have said it before, and I'll say it again: blogging is not a personal convenience.

Not even cjane's blog is for your personal convenience.

If you don't like a blog post, go read someone else's. You don't have to say "I understand you need to pay the bills" and then get to issue sanctimonious statements about brainwashing and propaganda.

It's beyond obnoxious.

I want you to write, cjane, but only when you write about something I like.

I want you to write, cjane, but only when you don't offend me.

I want you to write, cjane, but only if you take off that header.

I want you to write, cjane, but only if you adhere to my preconceived notion of what you should be writing.

I want you to write, cjane, but not if you get to blog about whatever you want.

BLOGGING IS NOT A PERSONAL SERVICE.

Dear Cjane,

I don't like the Popes: Jeff pulled my hair in Kindergarten. Can you take down this post?

I hate it when you write stuff that's about your family.

Can we get fewer pictures of your baby? I don't have a baby right now and they make me sad.

How about Chup? More Chup, really he's the only reason I ever read this here blog.

I get tired when you refer to Provo so much---I mean, WHO LIVES THERE ANYWAY?

Can you talk about Stephanie more? I know this is your blog, but really, she's your sister, please blog about her more.

On that vein, less Lucy, I feel like since she's the baby, she's had enough attention in her life.

The next time you talk about Idaho, I don't think I'll be reading you ever again. I don't approve of the Gem State.

New York is a filthy place full of immoral people, I can't BELIEVE you would highlight that kind of disgusting morality on your blog.

Ryan Simmons once performed at a Christmas party I attended and I have never had another experience equal it in splendor or humor. Too bad your blog is no exception.

Maybe you were better as a blonde?

Thanks! Love you!! Really!

Morgan Lee said...

CG, Azucar,

Who suggested that Cjane change the way she blogs? It hasn't happened here in this thread, anyway. Is the comments section for feedback and discussion, or unqualified praise?

Am I allowed to like Courtney's blog without liking every single post? 'Cuz... you pretty much implied that I am not, CG. "Comment here, but only in a way that I approve of and that doesn't hurt my itsy little feelings," right? I NEVER get that vibe from Cjane, which is part of what makes her blog so enjoyable. But the Cjane defenders, those of you who apparently think she ought to be spared everything from cloudy days to honest feedback, and who descend upon the slightest criticism with foaming mouths and bared fangs, you... well, you're a pain in the colon.

I will not go read someone else's blog because I dislike an occasional post. That's a moronic thing to do and a moronic thing to suggest. So kiss it.

anne said...

Well said, Morgan Lee.

TM said...

CJ, thank you for being so gracious and allowing us to express ourselves even if we don't agree 100% of the time.

Your communication today says a lot about your character. I think I like you even more now :)

b. said...

But why does anything have to be said at all?

If it feels icky to you...if you don't enjoy the post...move on!

Azúcar said...

Morgan,

But that's EXACTLY what 2Kids3Martinis said. "I have truly enjoyed your writing as well as your sister's, but it is so diluted now and the enjoyment and message is lost. Gone.
You lost me."

Really?

That kind of hyperbole is necessary and contributes to the conversation?

To everyone else this might be a blog, but to me, this is my friend, my real life friend. And if anyone says anything bad about my friends, I don't like it. I don't have to.

I read plenty of things I don't like online, but I don't make a habit of commenting on posts, especially not posts on personal blogs, with hyperbolic statements criticizing the author's choices. It's one thing to have a dialogue, quite another to declare that a person's post has pushed a reader over the line.

Note, I didn't reference the comments about the scrolling ads, because that's legitimate feedback. Arbitrarily declaring that a post on whatever topic is some sort of departure of the author and that you are disappointed in the content is ridiculous. Like CG6 said, It's a blog. It's not a personal service. If you don't like it, move along.

Carina and Megan, I love you. I love me some good, Mormon kick ass chicks.

I said "ass". Don't come read my blog.

I can't believe anyone would complain about this post! Dude-- there ARE people in the world with dry skin who would care about this. I'm one of them. And did someone suggest it was expensive? If you want cheap, buy chemicals. Chemicals are cheap. Geez, I buy $50 Arbonne lotion because it's AMAZING but if I can get something better for $12 that helps women in Africa, I'm all over that!

Is Courtney allowed to write posts for me? Can she leave the ninety and nine for me?

Thanks for the great info, Courtney. I love blogs that are different. I try to make mine varied with serious, funny, short, long posts, posts about music, posts about products I dig that no one asked me to write about, posts about how much I love frogs, whatever. Except for the frog bit, but maybe I will. You never know.

Those comments are not really genuine. I think they come because the reader is actually jealous or bitter and has just found a scapegoat.

Ali B. said...

I never comment, but I just need to say that I have thoroughly enjoy THIS blog, Nie's AND the million others that I plow through each evening while winding down. Yes, the pop-up ads can get annoying when my browser misses one, but I'm surely not going to whine in the comments about it. I can't believe I read all the comments here today. I RARELY look at comments, but felt compelled after cjane had to put some sort of disclaimer on HER OWN blog post?

Ohmy...

So, I'm applauding cjane for keeping her head held high through all of these comments because I would probably stoop on down and be a jerk right back to the negative forces who maybe have too much time on their hands.

Spread the love, not the hate.

Christa said...

Let me split it right down the middle.

I thought the post was fine and I found the project/product interesting. But then again I am a REPUBLICAN and I love CAPITALISM.

However, I also think that the comment section is exactly the place where someone should leave criticism and praise. Cjane is a writer and has talked in the past about her writing as a craft that she works hard at. I would think she'd want feedback, provided it was thoughtful and constructive. I think Martini went a bit drama queen on us with the implied foot stomp and door slam, but nevertheless, I would think that Cjane would like to know why she lost a reader rather than not knowing.

Plus like another commenter said, Cjane's gracious responses only make me like/respect her more.

Not that Cjane is, but I will never understand why people get their panties all up in a twist about people making money on/from their blogs. What is the big deal? If I could blog on a regular basis and get anyone to read it, I'd try to make some money at it, too. When did everyone become members of the ton?

Morgan Lee said...

OK, Azucar. It was silly for 2kids to say she's not going to read anymore. I said as much in my comment, and I'll concede that a threat to leave is an implied demand that a person's blogging style change. But I really don't think that's where most people are coming from. The critical comments in this thread do not come close to those in, say, the Rooster thread, where people were lecturing Cjane on how to actually live her life, and telling her to "listen to [her] mother," and using cringe-inducing words like "whackadoodle". Your defense of her there was admirable and spot-on.

But here, in this thread, I don't really see any personal attacks on Cjane the woman (maybe I missed them). I don't see calls to repentance, demands that she hide her boobs, entreaties to puritanical standards of modesty, nor gratuitous, inflammatory use of the word porn.

So if comments that express a (very reserved, non-personal) critique of the content of a post move you to ardent defense of your real life friend, then you're going to be a busy girl.

This is media today. If you go public with your personality, your writing, your product preferences, expect feedback. If I recall, Cjane herself once said that she sees this blog as a way of improving her writing skills. Good for her. But improvement and growth don't happen without feedback. If she wanted her post about Basa body lotion to be one that inspired rather than turned people off, then some of her wording should have been less reminiscent of a Dove commercial. Period. But I also know that when it comes to cheesy phrasing ("I believe in Basa Body") I have a more sensitive gag reflex than most women (most women don't have one at all). So that counts against me, I guess.

This blog is not anyone's personal service, and content critiques don't imply that anyone thinks it is. The person who suggested that, and the people who agree with it, are taking a pretty fascist view of this blog.

But it IS entertainment. Entertainment that invites feedback. Cjane seeks to entertain and inspire, right? Well, this particular post fell short of that for enough people that this is what this thread is now about. And Cjane is awesome enough that she gives us an outlet to express that. You might give your real life friend a little more credit.

Everyone in the public eye is someone's friend. Is it verboten, then, to say anything remotely non-glowing about anyone in the public eye? God help us.

OMG, drama. Let's all hate anyone who gives civilized criticism and pounce on them with vitriol. Let's resort to ad hominem and escalate the discussion out of control whenever someone politely disagrees. Apparently we shouldn't go watch Stephen Spielberg ever again, because we didn't happen to like the latest Indiana Jones.

You know, in the real world, when you create a work, publicize it, make it your business, and then some folks don't like it, you don't tell your customers to 'go away' you either A) grow tougher skin and use it as a learning experience, or B) get out of the business.

I have a very open blog commenting policy that's basically: Bring It. So, I relate to some of what Morgan Lee is saying and well put, Morgan. I just don't see how anyone would get their angel shorts in a bunch over the mentioning of a product. Even if she had said that she thanks God for this lotion every night, who cares? Does every sentence have to be brilliant and relateable? How often does she talk about products she likes?? Weird to be opinionated about this.

Wordsmith, welcome to the blogosphere, a circle of love in which responsive mud-slinging and defensive sarcasm is not only the norm but socially encouraged.

This comment string isn't even about the blog post anymore or even about Siege; suddenly it's all about two cents and feelings and defense and loyalty and apathy and consumerism and foreign aid and marraige and noses bend in funny shapes. I doubt our hostess is at a point right this moment where she is hurt. Sugar can help us out with that answer. My guess is that this blog's maven is giggling to pain at the concept that some believe she should care what y'all (we all) think.

What tough skin she's had to develop over the last while. (Don't forget that a blog actually is you, emotionally or intellectually naked on the Internet's pages. With her popularIty, Siege is a centerfold honey.) No wonder her body needs Basa.

But that has nothing to do with you Morgan, other than I just wanted you to know I respect your criticism of my writing. No problem there. You are right this post could've, should've would've been better written, maybe with a clever story and less usage of advert claims. (But did you hear? I have a sore throat.) Luckily it sounds like you are willing to forgive one. Maybe two?

Anyway, it pleases me a little to think that someone expects more of me. I kinda like that idea.

I emailed Azucar today because I was frustrated with the notion that I've been using my blog for product peddling and I have not. I really have not. I've tried hard to let this be as pure me as I can get. I thought for a moment about putting the Basa Body info on my dear cjane blog, but I wanted it to be more personal. So here it is. Azucar is on my board of directors, so she is required to defend the cause of truth and liberty. If she doesn't, I don't give her a cut of the millions of dollars those pop up ads make me every month.

Mego Sparks, you want to be on my board? I will move you from the design board to the Fierce Board. Let's set up a conference call.

You're on. I bite and scratch and pull hair. After I've surreptitiously placed a Kick Me sign. Wait until you see my fierce face. It's Deepak Chopra-esque in it's ability to alter lives.

Kuddos to Azucar for defending a friend- we should all be so lucky.

The comments left here are not overly terrible- but can you imagine the amount of negative emails Cjane probably receives on a daily basis?

Be kind- she is only human, and a person can only take so much criticism. Especially a person with everchanging hormones.(Been there!)

I am thankful for you CJane. You make the world ever more lovely. :)

Thanks, CJane, for explaining why you didn't put this post on your Dear Cjane blog. I honestly did wonder a bit.

For the record, I don't have the impression that you use your blogs for peddling products. If I did, I wouldn't be a regular reader.

Also for the record (in response to others), I have never (and would never) send a nasty email to a blogger. I shared my opinion in this thread only because I saw that others had a similar opinion to mine and their posts were being inaccurately characterized as mean and hateful. That sort of ridiculous, reactionary response drives me nuts, and THAT is what I am violently opinionated about, not so much the issue of whether or not this post is more personal or commercial sounding (on that matter, my opinion was casual, impersonal, and matter-of-fact).

This blog will continue to be one of the first ones I check every morning. I get up at an ungodly hour and 20 minutes of computer time gets my brain functioning. I just may avoid reading the comments in the future, but I won't stop reading the blog, whether I am in love with every single post or not. Variety!

Thanks again, Cjane.

Love your blog and reading anything you want to post about! I just bought 6 tubes of lotion and a couple of the sticks for stocking stuffers. Can't wait to get it. Thanks for the heads up on this great product and the women it supports!

Well said CG and Azucar!! I couldn't agree more. Seriously! What is wrong with people???? The audacity KILLS me. I for one LOVE hearing about recommendations of all sorts from blogs. It's AWESOME!! I get to know about things I never would have. So THANK YOU for the tip. Ignore all the peanut gallery comments. I really hope in the future you will post of other things you love and want to share with people!

dear c jane, i have followed your blog for a long time now and never commented, but i just want to say,

i dont care if you and nie start selling diamonds and bugaboo strollers on your blogs. i think it is absolutely splendid that you can blog about the best, beautiful, most sacred things in life (you know, the motherhood and church stuff, not daimonds of course)in a candid, witty way AND get paid to do it. what a gift! there are so few things in the world that can be positive, uplifting, wholesome (yes, wholesome) AND profitable, how lucky that your blog is one of them!

i hope a billion people buy that lotion.

thats all. =)

would it be terrible to admit that i enjoy a little bonfire on people's comments thread every now and then? so call me terrible. i do. it's fun to read. but not fun if it hurts the blogger's feelings.

today, as a blogger, i got my feelings hurt just a little bit. someone posted on a message board in our area that my blog sucked. they actually wrote: "your blog sucks."

that was my first taste of mean with regards to my blog, which does NOT suck. (it might have been b/c of a couple of recent posts that provoked the comment, and I was prepared for a little non-love because of that. but I don't really know what the poster meant by it.) it was just so...mean, to write it like that. so i while i can sit and get a kick out of stupid sniping back and forth, there's real person who might be taking criticism to heart.

i like a good disagreement but not when it gets personal. (or involves me! lol)

Courtney, Thank you so much for sharing about Basa. I hadn't heard of it before, but I will definitly order it. I am a huge supporter of cottage industry in underdeveloped countries and I try to buy things this way as needed. And you can guess what my 5 sisters will be getting for Christmas :)

I just ordered a lot. I should have asked you first, but I wetn with the citrus instead of the unscented--is this a good thing or not? I love citrus, I think it comes from growing up in Southern CA, and living on the beach with lemon treess surrounding us. Citrus brings happy memories to me. I cannot wait until my order arrives.

Ha! The indignation and foot stomping here is killing me. She only sounded like a commercial, people, because she's a competent writer and has a solid command of the English language. When a company wants a commercial written, it usually hires a competent writer with a solid command of the English language. Freakin Duh.

Thank you! I've been crying myself to sleep at night trying to come up with something to get my boss for Christmas. I got her the kiss-me gift pack and one for my best friend as well. And I know I'm going to have to get one for myself because it will come in the mail and I will be TEMPTED to keep one.

I won't get into the catfight. Love your blog as well as Nie's. Sometimes I really do like to hear about cool products because I feel challenged in the area of "cool." If you can help another woman gain self-confidence by pointing her in the direction of a sweet head band or perfectly moisturized skin, then isn't that a good thing?

I read this post the other day, and didn't find anything wrong with CJane posting on this product that she loves. I was annoyed while reading it because that darn Lego ad pops up, covers up the blog so I can't read it and while trying to get it to close, the survey ad pops up. So as I'm trying to read this awesome blog, I'm playing dodge ball with the ads. Everytime I read this blog I somehow hit that Lego ad and it always kind of bugs me, but I still come back for more thinking that one day I will be smarter than the Lego ad. Anyway, after all that, when I read 2 kids comments I thought she was referring to the pop up ads because CJane and her sister Nie both have that same darn Lego ad. I'm not suggesting they change their blog though. It has kind of become a challenge for me. A game I like to call "dodging the lego ad popup."

I do sometimes find myself trying to hate CJane. You know the "why does she get the perfect husband, close-knit loving family, AND the trip to New York for Thanksgiving?" kind of jealousy hate. Then I remember all of my blessings and try to only be a little bit envious.

Just thought I'd add my two cents. I wish I had a friend like Acuzar.....uh oh, the envy is coming back!

shanon said...

Haha! the word verification was adskad!

Oh, darn! She will never be my friend because I spelled her name wrong! Sorry Azucar!

Court-its your east coaster talking. Maybe it's time to turn off your comments again. You don't need to deal with this...

My big sister Sparks told me to come over here and read the comments. Boy have I missed out. Azucar, I love you and I always will. Sparks, I am glad I have you on my side. Morgan, you're an idiot. I hope you were typing all this hot and bothered mumbo jumbo during class time. Siege, you take criticism well. When people leave comments on my blog that I don't like, I delete them. Because it's my blog and I can do whatever the hells I want. And I do. And it feels good to have that kind of power.

And why would you not make money on a blog when you can? Remember when I said that? Who just hates money?

Really? Forget all this drama. The real fascinating thing about this post is that you can actually EAT the lotion!
