Five Photographs in Five Days: Day Five

So as your brain is telling you, this isn't a photograph.

But it is a digital portrait taken from a photograph (by Jess Smart Smiley) of Chup.

So I think it counts.

I don't always know why I blog, but I am suspicious that it has something to do with my husband. Sometimes I use it as a way to flirt with him, other times to tease him, but mostly always to try and impress him. He's the critical, poetic English Major writer in the relationship, I am just hanging around with my Behavioral Science degree. But as far as impressing him with writing goes, he doesn't hand it out easily. I have to work really hard.

Tonight he called me as he was boarding a plane to come home, "I liked your post today."

"Really?"

"I thought you had some playful phrasing in there."

Playful phrasing?

(Does that sound cheeky to you too?)

Either I really typed up something good, or my husband hasn't seen me in a week.

(Welcome home husband.)

Husband compliments are hard won at my house, so they taste extra chocolately. But do you ever get the "Uhhh, interesting post today" ?? Heartbreak.

I totally use my blog to flirt with/try to impress/hint at my affection to my current crush!!

He's an amazing writer and a positive comment about my work is worth at least 10 times a comment from anyone else. (I also get just a little competitive with him about whose blog gets the most traffic!)

Love the photo/drawing!

or maybe it was that hotness brunette pic of you? :) (or the blonde... :)

I love to impress my husband. Not so much with my blog, but with other things, like, trying to make him crack up. I love to do that. Or when I know something that he doesnt... cause he knows everything.

Anyway, very cool photo/graphic today. I say it counts. I too have enjoyed your blog this week. Thanks for the extra pictures. Hopefully your family will be pleased.

I love your writing style - and imagine how surprised/excited I was to find a picture of you and your sister in my mailbox as I gathered my Mormon Times/Church news today!

I'll be honest - it's the first time I've ever read something from the Mormon Times.

My husband really doesn't read mine. He looks at the words, and thinks that counts. What I would give for a man who showed genuine interest in this little part of me that I work so hard on.

He says, "It's so long," which, granted, sometimes it is...but is my writing not compelling enough to keep him
scrolling down for 60 or 90 seconds?

Sounds like it'll be a goooooood night at the Kendrick home.

I like to annoy my sweetheart with my blog, saying more than he thinks is appropriate (like how I made a deal with him that I'd sleep in the nude if he wouldn't complain about me turning up the heat in order to try to melt the frozen pipes). I like how he tries to shame me into feeling like I should be more private on my space. Doesn't he know that all inuendo is intentional and I'm not bashful (online)?

Congrats on a Well Done from your husbandiero. We English Majors don't hand that out liberally.

You've just handed me an epiphany.

I think I blog for my husband too!

Hmph.

Did NOT see that coming.

I am shocked that you are not the English major in the relationship. I am and you put me to shame, although I have come to realize I am more of a technical writer than a creative one ... which is a slight bummer.
I know you don't want to hear it, but, ilikeyoubrunettebetteryoulookyounger :)

My husband reads my blog on occasion. He likes to save them up and savor them, but he never really tells me what he thinks. I got an anonymous comment once, that was kind of weird. I think it was him.

About your hair post ... you are definitely meant to be a brunette! I think you are prettier that way.

Hoss thinks my blog is ridick. I force him to read it sometimes. I think his eyes probably hurt from the eyerolling.

I love the "photo art"! It is really a fun thing to have! I would love to have one of each of my kid-lets and my doggie too!

Happy Chup is coming home! It's no fun when they are away. Have a lovely evening with your love!

My wife doesn't read my blog. Unless she's the one posting all the spam in the comments section. I should go have a talk with her...

I hate to comment on one post about another post, but you didn't leave me a choice--on the post about your hair color. For the record I think you look great both ways, but what I really want to say/ask is if you could please impart little tidbits of wisdom from your hair dresser, in the future? I'm also wanting to grow my hair a little longer, but after coloring and 3 kids I mostly just want it to get HEALTHY! Please? (thanks) And, btw, I think Chup looks fabulous illustrated!
