Vlog: Best Blogging Week Ever Feb. 20-25

.
Do not watch this vlog. We shot it late last night when my brain had turned into bananas.

Ok, if you must watch this vlog, please know this is not me in real life, this is me when possessed by my inner demons. Yes, I have more than one.

Dear Friends of New Zealand, we dedicate this strange vlog to you and send out our best wishes for recovery. Sorry it's strange.

Dear Editor at the Des News Who Came Up With My Mormon Times Headline, I am sorry I make fun of your title, Blogging Is Hard!

Ample warning, and a few preemptive apologies, and we're off!

156 Pieces of Opinion:

J to the Nessa said...

What I don't like about your vlogs is that it makes me really want to be your friend in real life and then I feel like a lame-o wishing to be friends with somebody that I don't know. So it's really a vicious cycle. Darn you CJane. ;)

Nicole said...

you are funny AND corporate!JK!

Cathy said...

C.Jane and Chup,
This has made my day....LOVE YOU GUYS!!!

LOVE.YOU.GUYS!!!!

Molly said...

Anyone who doesn't "get" you and Chup are missing out on a HUGE slice of life. You guys are awesome and need your own show. Once a week is not enough ! :)

Yay unexpected vlog day! Oh my goodness wait...it really is Friday? OH HAPPY DAY!!!! That was funny and adorable and I really enjoyed it, thanks so much Chup-und-Cjane.

Mandy said...

That was a little scary. But now I'm cracking up. I guess it was a big smile on your face kind of scary.

Leslie Ruth Petree said...

Can I please come hang out with you sometime when your brain has turned into bananas because OH MY WORD at the funny! And the punny :)

Seriously, to me this what vlogs should be. Witty, brain turned to bananas hilarity. Bring it.

You guys were so funny it made me laugh out loud. Very weird, which I can completely relate with. Loved it!

Rebecca MacIntosh said...

So it is now a habit that with my morning coffee (once the little ones are at school or playing) I sit and read my favourite blogs. On the mornings where you've vlogged my Hubby joins me and watches! YOu guys are awesome!

Julie said...

I seriously look forward to coming into work Friday mornings just so I can watch you and Chup on camera. You both are great. Your vlogs are hilarious. Gooooo, CJane and Chup! Maybe next week we can see a little Ever and the Chief? I think their cuteness needs to be shared with all!

Caroline of Salsa Pie said...

Girl, I am loving the stole. It has a fun and quirky Edith Beale vibe going on there!
p.s. Very cute vlog. You and Chup have a neat dynamic.:)

marnee said...

I love that you were funny before. I love even more that you and Chup are hillarious now (or maybe I'm just realizing it). Bring on the lighthearted, balanced look at life. I can always use more of that.

Kristy said...

I woke up this morning just sure that NOTHING could make me smile after a night up with my newborn and wow, you guys did the trick! It just might not be the worst day ever after all! Thanks for that!

by r. said...

First let me just say that I am a new reader, so I don't know your "face" too well yet, but this was THE MOST hilarious and touching thing I have seen online in awhile, maybe ever. I LOVED it. You guys are pretty awesome. I like how you dealt with the comment - recognizing the nice things she said, as well as inviting her to write back and let you know what she meant by corporate (yes i want to know that too). This is probably getting too gushy, but I loved seeing the dynamics of you two together, i think you're so cute. and HILARIOUS. okay, that's all. Carry on.

~Amy Jo~ said...

Stole...isn't that what you do in the bathroom?

Y'all rock!

hilarious..love it..thanks for coming back.

Kelly said...

My favorite part of this is when Chup says "that was awkward because I did my peace out and THEN I have to turn off the camera" Nice one Chup!

Anonymous said...

I agree almost entirely with the anonymous dramatic reading - I would not have said it the same way but I do find the new features on this blog too much(EXCEPT THE VOLG, which I love exactly how you are doing it).

I like you, CJane, not your guests so much. I love Chup on the vlog but rarely read his posts (sorry Chup).

But I applaud you for trying new stuff, I applaud you for being true to yourself and not blogging when you don't feel it (although I definitely missed the volg last week and wish you would do it no matter what!).

and I will keep being a fan, because that's what real fans do - stick with you even when you make three albums of experimental jazz...you know what I am saying?

Butternutsage said...

You know it is funny but I sit here and just smile throught the whole thing...then have to watch it again to see what you said...does that make sense! Love you guys....I want to be your neighbor, with binoculars@@ to see how much fun you have the other 23 3/4 hours of your day!!!!

Kate said...

LOL. I think you guys need some sleep!!! Someone is a little giddy tired.

But you guys rock & I love your vlog. Rock on!

Rebecca Raye said...

Oh my, not nearly enough warnings ;-0 And you probably should have warned us you would be wearing fur!!! Just kidding. You are nuts! In a good way.

Denise said...

Can we be friends? REALLY, I want to be your friend. You are so fun freakintastic. You just make me laugh (my husband joined me a few weeks ago watching your blog and he loved it as much as I do.) Thanks for keeping it real.

Kristen said...

I just want to mention that as we were watching this, my 4 yr old turned to me and said "I want her to take that 'rug' off so we can see what she has on underneath." So, you definitely had one vote at least for taking off the "rug." ;)
Thanks as always for a great start to my day. :)

Katie said...

Haha! That was fun. I love sleep-deprived loopiness. Instead of trying to tell us why you didn't blog as much this week, you should have just said, it's my blog and I'll blog if I want to....

Kath said...

MS Mom said...

HAHAHA Best vlog so far! Superb face time. I so want to stalk you and mkae you be my friend in real life. (I am kidding. Please know that is a joke!)
And kuddos to the Chup for such a dramatic reading.

Heather said...

I don't understand the critisim. This is your blog right? We read it becuase it's yours, and what you post (your words or not), is part of you. If they want to read something tailored to them, they should read their own blogs. right? Love you C. Jane.

So I dreamed last night that we were HANGING OUT and it was awesome, up at a cabin, playing games, my hubby and Chup were cracking up... and then I woke up and realized that we really and truly have never met outside of blog land (BLOGGING IS HARD!!) and I was a little sad. But I won't let that get in the way of dreaming we are besties.

I think it's just that these vlogs would make anyone feel like we were old friends with you. KEEP EM COMIN!! And don't get all "not feelin it" OR any less corporate than you are. RIGHT ON.

Bryce and Candice Blood Family said...

One suggestion. Get more sleep! I love tired delirium and it is oh so fun. Buuuuuttt, your kids are going to die when they grow up and watch these. Laughing. Just imagine what their dates will think. Wait. Don't worry about the sleep. As much as we are enjoying this now. You will enjoy it so much more later. Great fun. Even the cleavage that ends where your collar bones meet. Yes, yes you are blessed you are. You two make loving you so fun. Despite what your kids tell you when they are teenagers someday.

Gabriela said...

What an excellent vlog response to your weido reader. Touche! I love you both (you and Chup), not the werido. Very bold.

Laura K said...

you are both FABULOUS! face time.

Shantel said...

I get what that reader is saying about corporate. Lots of promoting products and companies, guest posts, instead of the original charm about your blog. You blogging. About being a mother, and wife - not rooftop concerts. WITH THAT SAID, Let me say - that you are being true to what your life is. I am facing this right now in my own life. My blog used to focus on being a Mom of five children with ASD, joys and struggles - but my focused has changed to other areas of my life. I travel and speak about Emma Smith- I am getting invitations to speak in Nauvoo and the Lincoln Library - so do I blog about that? You Betcha!(I love in MN - so I have to throw that in- with an accent please!) Am I still a genuine blogger? - yeppers! You are too. My life is changing - so my blog is changing. Change is ok. Love the stole, BTW.

Woke up this AM 45 minutes before my alarm - the kids are grown - in a foul mood(dreamt of hiring Moammar Gadhafi as our school's custodian and/or language teacher), when I thought, why not watch Jane's vlog (what is a vlog anyway). You, and the fact that I didn't actually hire Moammar, really brightened up my day! Thanks for being silly and owning it!

J said...

Chup's posts are great. They help me know what to buy my husband.

Kat said...

Really? How have you gone cooperate? How 'bout the annoying advertisement that always sneaks up on the page that needs to be deleted to read your blog?

Still love you and will keep deleting to read... and if I have to wait out a few days of guest posts to get back to your 'voice' I always will.

Sorry but I kind of agree with that reader. I miss the old cjane, except I do like the vlogs. Not so much a fan of the guest posts or chup's posts. I used to look forward to getting on your site every day to see what's new and now if I see it isn't you blogging I don't even read it. Sorry about the writers block, I hope you find some inspiration soon. I imagine it's a lot of pressure to come up with something fresh all the time.

I have to say I absolutely love the vlogs!! Seriously. You and Chup are hilarious. And...the dramatic reading part of each vlog...THE.BEST. Keep them coming.

Love the vlogs! Now, whenever I read a snarky comment on your blog, I hear it in Chups dramatic reading voice, and it cracks me up!

My first time commenting! a little scary I am NOT the writer you are... I L O V E your vlogs. This is not a back handed compliment, but I don't always have time to read the longer posts. I have 3 kids one's a newborn & a new puppy. But I do have time to watch & I am always laughing out loud it scares Shafer (the newborn) Thanks for the laughs. You & Chup are one of a kind (or is that 2 of a kind). I'd love to be your neighbor!!!

add that to my list to stupid decisions....

I loved your vlog, it's hilarious. Don't you know that we're all like that late at night? Well, maybe just the cool ones are like that.

I saw you and your whole family in the temple a couple weeks ago and my husband whispered right away, "Did you see who's here?" I smiled coyly but played it cool.

See, I loved (in a brother in the gospel kind of way) Chup during my mission because he was the sweet dad that played in the movie I watched and showed hundreds of times in the St. George Temple Visitors Center. Then I started reading your blog and watching your vlog and now I love you- in a sister in the gospel way plus I have a small lisp plus I love to write.

Anyways, I like seeing your vlogs even if they're crazy like that one. Then, like J to the Nessa says, I feel like we're friends cause I saw you with your guard down (and sometimes your shrug!).

I have to admit, though, that I was particularly good at staying awake during that visit to the temple and it may be because you and your family were sitting behind me. On a more serious note, it made me happy to know one of the few bloggers I follow is doing her best to live the gospel I so believe in also.

Thanks for posting this silly vlog, it's nice to see a girl (other than me and my best friend in CA) get crazy every once in a while!

With appreciation and excitement for more funny/transparent/gangsta blog posts and vlogs. But, by all means, if you're not feelin' it, you're not feeling it (in reference to you not blogging as much last week, or something, I really didn't notice to tell you the truth- not that I don't care.)

OK. thanks.

sundance tree room waiter (I saw your sister there a few weeks ago while I was working and couldn't think what the amuse bouche was because I was thinking about how I knew her!... I don't even get nervous around Robert Redford!)

P.S. I put my comment in separate paragraphs so you'd be more likely to read it. And there really is no excuse for me telling you my resume at the end of my comment other than I want to show off.

Don't let the people with no sense of humor get you down.

You are like the Martin and Lewis of the blogging era.
Seriously. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OEfNjQFgsp0)

One day, Courtney will have her own telethon called "Courtney's kids" and Chup will have his own variety show called "The Chup Kendrick variety show". You just watch.

Stay away from the drink though, guys. That's what killed Martin and Lewis being together.
Besides, I think you do pretty well without the alcohol.

"Embarrassed for you"?
SERIOUSLY?
I'm embarrassed that they don't get it.

Nora said...

I've got a general policy against meanness, but watching your blog makes me want to say nasty things, so that Chup will read them all dramatic-like.

Also? I have a mink stole that belonged to my mother's great aunt Mary Gray. She bought it for herself after her 3rd(!) fiancee died, to show that she didn't need a man to buy her nice things. It is the best item of clothing ever, even though I'm kind of scared of it.

And now I'm thinking that one of Mary Gray's beaus ran off or was run out of town or something. Anyway, I'm glad you get to have both love and furs.

I feel so bad for poor Chup. You totally ignore him in the Vlog. He seems so attentive, he tries to throw you some lines to bounce off of, but you totally blow him off! You seem to be halfway to Hollywood with your stole and Chup wasn't allowed on the train ride. Please...next week just have a blow up doll in the background instead of your sweet husband. I feel bad for him!

AmyP said...

I love you two! And Nienie of course!! You and Chup just go together like Bruce goes with Willis! Seriously! THAT MUCH! Does Chup have somewhere to go when you vlog, because he doesn't seem to fully enjoy being there. In each one so far he seems rather disinterested/ready to roll his eyes when you speak, but comes alive when it's his turn. I don't know if this is the character he puts on, but it feels like there's a lack of respect underneath all that jest.

To all those questioning Chup's 'disinterest' on camera:
Chup's being the straight man - You both are like a George Burns and his wife Gracie act. (Hey, before my time too, but check it out) Gracie would ramble on and George would 'stoically' act as a sounding board.

I get it. ;)

Very cute. You both complement one another and are adorable!!

Love Chup in these vlogs. I think all comments are great - keeps people engaged in the content of the blog - criticizing people for the content of their comments is just following the critical path. If the comments are approved, the blog monitor is good with the comment. I love that some issues on this blog stir emotion and controversy. It is never boring.

I think this blog is commercial and the sister blog, nie nie dialogues, has gone off the radar commercial but oh well, that is what comes with success...not being from utah or even from the unied states, and not being mormon, I would not have found these blogs had they not become successful so I do appreciate that they seem less personal and teh advertisements and links are annoying, it seems that is the price for the entertainment.

I have zero experience in real life with Mormons but you have definitely opened my eyes to the culture. I had this theory that the religion was buttoned up with skirts and matching long hair styles with bangs( for some reason). But this theory is far from the truth. You seem to be more worldly than most agnostics I know. Good luck with your blog and whichever direction you are taking. For me the comments provide the most entertainment. Oh, and the VLOG where you make fun of everyone and everything. I continue to read so it is working. I hope you cash in, if that is possible with blogging. Perhaps you will open my eyes to the blogging culture as well.

As always, hilarious. Why do you only do them once a week. I suggest twice a day from now on. Quick question. Do I have to insult you to get my comment read during the dramatic reading?

I agree with the dramatic email. I dislike the guest posts, so I only come read once in a blue moon now.
