Just found your blog through Blog Frog and I'm loving it! This post made me chuckle to myself (can't chuckle out loud seeing how it's 11:23 p.m. and all others are asleep). I can't imagine 5 kids...I can barely make it through the day with 3!

That was a GREAT story and well told. I kinda relate. I went to London and breezed through, declined a ride on The Eye thingie, though I was RIGHT THERE, because I just wanted to sleep and be without children. I said, "Ehn. I'll come back another time."

I was extremely upset by "day0922"'s response. Obviously this person hasn't been pregnant and has no understanding of your significance to the literary and social commentary of the world at large. I feel sorry for this person.
On another note, I love this full circle story and how insightful and humorous your postings are. They truly brighten my day, and from the comments, many days for others too. Keep posting and enjoy your vacation... whether you rest or play tourist!

c jane, I know you are on vacation, but when you return and have a moment, would you do post on How to See Paris? How to eat it and art it and shop it? My daughter, who you can appreciate, came to me after 7 years of infertility. She is 5 and I am 35 and when I am 40 and she is 10, we are going to Paris. We are saving our frequent fliers and pennies now. How do I do Paris, so it is unforgettable? We are doing 2 weeks. Is that enough?

This sounds so familiar. Also, I remember going to the Louvre and almost weeping that Winged Victory had no head. I'd seen her in a history book in high school and fallen in love, but somehow imagined that her head was thrown back in a celebration of her victory.

Paris is just all over these days. You post on Paris today. My friend Rabid is there right now posting pictures of the Eye-Full tower and the Triumphant Arch. I did the same thing with Moms who wore mom-jeans and gross TShirts. Guess what I'm wearing right now? Mom jeans and a gross TShirt.

I am pretty much exhausted all the time, despite my mainlining a steady stream of Rockstars and Full Throttle. I laughed reading this post, because I just ranted in an epitaph I labeled, "My kids will kill me someday."

Hahaha, its so true. We are flying down to visit family for Thanksgiving. Picked up at baggage claim, they will cater to our every whim.

My whim will involve lots of resting. I don't even think we will make it to the beach. That's how much of a vacation this will be. We will enjoy the screened in porch and the sunlight and at least one nap a day. At least for me, the toddler can play with grandma, great grandma, the aunts and uncles or the cat. But I will sleep.
