We so would have been friends as children. I also was of the no pizza for me club. I cannot tell you how many PB & J's I ate at events where everyone else was scarfing down pizza. I moved to Connecticut when I was 24. My new co-workers took me out to dinner the 1st night I was in town to a pizza joint. Horror of horrors, they had nothing else on the menu so I tried pizza, actually ate a few slices. Then promptly vomited them up and was so dizzy and dehydrated that I had to be driven home. I eventually came to love pizza until I was pregnant, and then the heartburn-induced agony was too much to bear. The minute I gave birth in the hospital, I asked my friend to bring me a large pizza and a Daity Queen blizzard.

I used to hate pizza too, but this was forced on my part. I wanted attention and it was my bro's birthday so I thought, I know, I'll say I hate pizza and people will be like WHAT??? She's crazy. Done and done, it was a hit, people couldn't believe I didn't like pizza, how absurd. I did this for a few years and then when it became a burden, because pizza is a large part of childhood I decided to bring pizza back into my life again and.....I HATED IT. Karma I guess! About 3 years ago I started eating pizza every once in a while and finally I've started to like it! YAY for born again pizza lovers.

That pizza is perfect for the French (okay Canadian) portion of you--my husband had a slice with egg in Paris. I'm also totally with you about hating pizza as a kid, I did as well. I used to be so mad when my mom said we were eating that for dinner (equaling me eating crazy bread and leftover crusts). Now I love it-must be those changing taste buds :)

I have loved pizza for my whole life. But I loved it even more when we went to Vienna last year and had some AMAZING pizza. You know those Austrians and their pizza. OK - not really, but maybe they're close enough to Italy to have picked up on some good pizza making skills.
