I use my Weekender bag for Sunday's at church! We've both got 3 kids now, I figure a REALLY BIG diaper bag is essential for a 3 hour church block! Go ahead! Use it! Don't feel guilty ;)
But a vacation would be nice too.

When my youngest was about 18 months and I was happily chatting on the house phone (no cell phones then), she and the dog got down the bottle of vitamins with iron, somehow opened it and ate all of them. Yikes. I called poison control, they said, don't worry about the dog, he'll throw up. Give her Ipacac and put her in the tub with plenty of toys and water. Nice clean way to deal with throwing up child. Both survived to drive me nuts with many more interesting experiences!

Can I post what happened 28 years ago nursing? I will assume it will be OK, and if it isn't you can delete me :)

We were out and about in town with the kids and the baby was fussy and wanting to eat--he was sill only nursing at the time. We went into a coffee house where I could sit and nurse him while my husband and other son walked down to the game shop and waited for us. Baby boy fell asleep and I put him back in the stoller and went to find my husband. The game shop is 2 blocks down from where I was, so I walked down and found them,and when I walked up my husband looked up and very matter of factly said, "Your left breast is showing." When baby was done nursing I forgot to put the food source away and walked 2 blocks flashing my boob.

I guess the good news is that nudity is legal is Berkeley.

Courage, sister! I've been writing my memoir for almost a year and I promise you that you are ahead of me. I am certain of it. And I have no kids to distract me--just a nice sofa and lots of books. None of them mine. While mine looks at me accusingly from the computer.

You go, girl, and continue to inspire me. Oh, and that baby? I could eat her up. Along with those other babies of yours. Yummy cheeks, just cute as bugs.

I like your "Don't Be Stupid" walk idea. When I'm hard on myself, I try to remember that I show more courtesy and encouragement to a friend...or even an acquaintance...than I do to myself. Stupid, and totally unproductive. You're doing an amazing job. Keep writing!

Don't have a photo of it but years ago while I was nursing my baby my 2 year old (she's 9 now!) flooded our bathroom. She had been playing with her rubber duck in a little water that I put in the sink for her. She must have been bored because she grabbed a roll of toilet paper and stuffed the over flow drain with it and put a whole bunch in with the duck before shimmying up and turning the tap on....waterfall cascading over the sink, water about an inch deep covering the floor and flooding down to the basement by the time I came to check on her. Didn't know whether to laugh or cry - it was time to pick up the 5 yr old from school too. Ah, good times :)

While I nursed my baby, my 20 month old got a stool opened the child lock to the garage, moved same stool to the inside of the garage where he pressed the garage door opener and ran across the street to the neighbors. This was all done in 60 seconds and silently, I might add. Luckily the neighbor called!!!

While I nursed my baby, my 3 year old raided my huge just-birthed-a-baby maxi pad box and stuck them all over her body and on the bottoms of her feet. Then she skated around on them for at least an hour. Totally worth the clean up, though.
