My heart goes out to the Kinneard's and the Nielsen's. I was going to school at ASU and was looking for a flight instructor about 5 years ago and luckily I found Doug. He and I shared many of the same interests and he helped mentor me as I worked my way into the Air Force’s flight program. We have kept in touch via e-mail and have always shared our love for God, country, family, and flying. Doug welcomed me into his home and I was able to spend the evening and next morning with him and his kids after flying a T-1 cross country flight into Sky Harbor earlier this year. I will never forget that trip since it brought me back to my flying roots out of Falcon Field and Williams-Gateway. I am glad I was able to see him one last time. He was always such a happy, fun, caring, personable man. However, I know we will someday see him again and I know he is smiling down on his family right now. He treasured his wife and kids and you could always tell that his family was his number one priority. I am proud to have known and flown with Doug and will cherish many fond flights, conversations, and memories. We will all miss him dearly and hope the best for the Nielsen family.

I didn't personally know the victims of the accident, nor do I know you either I read about this on my dear friends Kayola's blog and have been so touched by everything. My heart goes our for Doug's family in their loss. My prayers are continually with Stephanie and Christian for their recovery and the love of the children. We often ask ourselves why? Our Heavenly father only gives us what he knows we can handle and he helps us through it with love, faith and prayers. I cannot express enough words for the heartache both these families are induring at this time. I have come to love them and have never met them. May God be with you.

I too do not know your families. But I have found many common threads in our lifes and you sweet sister as well. I have been so moved by her blog, I can tell that she is a great mom and wife. I am in the ward with Doug Kinneard, so I am seeing things from the other side. I too like your sisters family have a great love for Bluewater NM. I was raised there and left as a teen to move to the valley. I am amazed at the strength of your families and how everything is being handled. I wish Stephanie and her sweet husband a speedy return, I know it wont be speedy but returning will be a great thing.

Here, in Florida, I have just heard the news of my friend's death. Doug Kinneard lived here with his family several years ago. He was the Young Men's President and worked with the older boys. My heart aches for the family. Doug was a good friend, an excellent example for my sons, and lived life to the fullest. I pray that the family members of those who survived will receive the strength and resolve they need to heal the lives of their injured loved ones.

I cannot begin to tell you how this tragedy has affected so many of us. I live next door to the Heap's which is where the plane went down. Many of our good people in this town were with your loved ones trying to do what they could to help them and calm them until help arrived. This is truly a difficult time. You would be so proud of Doug, Stephanie and Christian. They were remarkable! I am most heart-sick by the death of Doug and for the months and months of recovery that lie ahead for Stephanie and Christian. I have first hand witnessed what it's like to watch a loved one go through 3rd degree burns and sit and wait in the Maricopa Burn Center, praying for them. I know our prayers are being heard. I know the Lord will only give to us what we can handle and I am eternally grateful for the gospel and the plan of salavation. We love you, and we continue to pray for you. Tanya Clines

I'm so glad you posted this. The Kinneards are in our ward and Doug was my husbands flight instructor. We will miss him and we know what a great pilot and husband and father he was. Just wanted to mention his funeral is scheduled for 10 am Saturday @ the church on Lindsay and Des Moines in Mesa.

Cjane, thank you for allowing the post about Doug - I went to high school with Roslyn, his wife. Her parents lived down the street from my grandmother, and her father was my stake pres.for a time. I am not a Mormon, I am a born again Christian and am praying for you all as sisters and brothers in Christ. My heart was shocked and saddened when I happened upon this horrible news upon glancing at "the Nienie Dialogues", which I do a few times a week. I will be fasting for them tomorrow (I missed the previous fast as I only just found out about this tragedy). Trust that "...all things work together for good for those who love Christ and are called according to his purpose..." My heart goes out to Mr. Kinneards family.
